Omega General Help / Parking Sensors
« on: 08 April 2017, 20:44:50 »
Just gave up on the 3.2, I get a constant tone. I popped to DIY shop and parallel park = Working.

Pop to Tesco, reverse in = Working.

Get home = Failed  :(

Tried the trick listening to each one, can't hear anything. Any other good way to test?

Bit of a geeky joke this but...

I lift share (sadly only for another month, as he's leaving Sky) but he has a BMW 235i with connected BMW Drive App on his phone. Today I left my phone in his car, I only noticed when I got to my desk. Now my car share buddy works in a different building to me, 15 min walk away. My phone was on and connected into interwebs, so I used WhatsApp web via my Mac to message him.

He told me to call him, when I was outside the car. He would unlock it while still at his desk, as he could do it from there.

Ah, but I have no means to call him when outside it. But, I had my Apple Watch on, so I walked to the car and my watch connected via bluetooth as I was stood outside. So I called my car share buddy, via my watch. (it has mic/speaker)

Told him I was outside, he unlocked the car, I retrieved my phone. He then locked it again, while I walked back to my desk.

 ;D

I'll get some pictures up tonight, but 4x FL CDX Alloys, in excellent condition.

2 of the tyres have near brand new Kumho tyres fitted.

1 tyre is borderline legal

1 tyre has a puncture (and is also borderline legal)

£70, collected from Camberley Area.  :y

Potentially do Osterley.  :)

Time has come to let me 2.2 go, I need my driveway space back. I was planning to strip some bits off it and then donate it to local fire station, so they can practice saving lives on it. But thought I would offer it here first with all bits on, as I really don't have the time to strip the bits of value off.

As a shell it's not worth much, it's a on 191k miles. Cambelt/pump last done about 2 years ago, exhaust less than a year old. No leaks from cam cover or coolant leaks, engine wise it's spot on.

The LPG system was fitted by LazyDocker in 2009, it's never gone wrong it's never missed a beat since fitted at 130k and is still working well, even has 1/4 tank of gas in it. It's a 90L tank, with injection system. (not mixer) - It's also on the LPG register, so no problems with insurance. Bodywork wise it's got some nocks and bashes, as it is 191k miles. The bumper has scuffs, due to a life in London as for a while each time I came back to it, someone had clipped it.

The bad news is that it needs welding, the sills around backdoors are shot and would need sorting. The clutch is on it's last legs as well, although it still drives fine. The aircon/climate is bust and the drivers door lock has failed and the interior front drivers seat has seen better days. (Although no rips or tears, it's just needs a damn good clean!)

On the upside i'm throwing in lots of stuff:

1) It's currently sitting on late Elite 17" alloys, the Nexen tyres fitted are shot and alloys can do with a re-furb.
2) I'm also chucking in 4 x CDX Facelift alloys, which are in excellent condition, 2 of them have near brand new Khumo KU39's the other 2 have legal depth.
3) Thrown in as well are 4 x Facelift CD alloys with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D tyres, used back in 2012 for a run to Austria and back. Alloys are in excellent condition and tyres have decent tread.
4) 3 un-marked door trims, I bought a set to replace one damaged one.
5) Load of spin on oil filters.
6) Spare exhaust manifold gasket and nuts

I'll post some better pictures later in the week, it's currently SORN and would need taking away.

The LPG bits alone are worth a few quid as are the winter tyres, I know i would probably make a bit more selling them off as individual bits.

£350 but open to offers.

Omega General Help / Washer fluid leak?
« on: 05 March 2017, 18:15:48 »
Noticed a pool of water under the bonnet of the 3.2 this evening, I think it must be screen wash? It's clear, has no tint of anti-freeze.

Odd place for screenwash leak though?  :-\

General Car Chat / 5 months after I broke the multi-rams...
« on: 18 February 2017, 21:47:08 »
...finally got around to fixing it. Had a distinct case of "cannot be bothered"  ;D

Should have done it ages ago, the 3.2 goes much better now.  :D

In the end I glued the snapped off bit, back onto the joiner section. Carefully glued it, waited, then started car and made sure air was getting through and there was vac was leaking. Left it over night, now re-attached the T-peice adaptor thing, taken it for a spin and yup nice and perky mum bus again.  :D

General Car Chat / Big thanks to Kevin Wood
« on: 08 February 2017, 09:52:38 »
For sorting my 3.2's cambelt, it was probably around year over-due  ::)  ;D  :o

Kevin kindly spent his evening replacing the cam belt while I helped looked on, been a long time since we caught up. I also managed to return something on loan that I had for around 6.5 years  :o :o :o  ;D

3.2 can little bit more perky on the way back, thanks to some compressed air down the breathers. I really need to fix the multi-ram valve.

Thanks again Kevin  :y :y :y

Omega General Help / V6 Multi-Ram
« on: 25 January 2017, 10:45:10 »
Are they the same across all V6? - Can I source pipework of a 3.0/2.5 for my 3.2?

Need to get it from a breaker, need all pipework as bit on my 3.2 is bust. Vacuume loss means terrible MPG. Around 20!

Is it best to seal vac leak off or just leave it?

Omega General Help / Wet Concrete on paint?
« on: 06 January 2017, 14:49:24 »
I have what appears to be wet concrete drops on the 3.2, on the front wing it looks like something has dripped on.

It's a bugger to remove with normal soap water, with a finger nail it kind of comes off but still bloody hard work.

What's best to use? White Sprit or even petrol?  :-\ - Concerned these would be too abrasive?

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / 3.2 Multiram Setup
« on: 28 December 2016, 10:41:42 »
I've broken the vac pipe that splits off back of the plenum, the section that runs off brake servo and runs into a joiner. When I changed HBV the little vac that runs off top of this split off.  :(

So need a whole new rear section I think, don't can it be easily replaced on its own?

General Car Chat / Not seen this before, oil filter...
« on: 19 December 2016, 15:19:19 »
Oil change on the 3.2 today, noticed the oil filter element had come off it's plastic base thing. It's a genuine GM filter, the one that went on had been in the garage a while.

But first time I've seen it.  :-\
