Omega General Help / Rear Saloon Lights
« on: 06 February 2016, 09:09:42 »
What's the best way to open them up ?

Not sure if this is a common thing that happens over time, I suppose i have what you'd call algae or something that resembles it on the inside of the lense on the side the part between the wing / boot lid. It's on all the rear lamps, If this is a unheard of thing i'll get some pictures when possible if my description makes no sense  ;D

Probably doesn't help that the car is parked near trees, Especially with the damp weather etc..

Not really an issue yet but if it's a relatively straight forward job I'd like to clean them, If not will source some clean ones at some point.

Thanks in advance...  :y

General Car Chat / Steinmetz Wheels
« on: 04 February 2016, 08:24:16 »
There appears to be a few different types that look similar to each other...  :-\

What is the name / size of Steinmetz the Omega should have?, Looking about the top picture appears to be a Astra option, Although I've seen pictures with them on Omegas maybe because they are a tad easier to get?... I'm presuming the 2nd picture was the factory optional extra as such for the Omega?

But then in this picture below the rear wheel appears to have a deeper dish than the front...  :-\ ...I know very little about Steinmetz, Hence all the questions.

...There are these on eBay UK and as i thought they are smaller at 16" LINK ..so probably intended for the smaller cars Corsa, Astra etc..

[EDIT:] It does say in the description: "Originally offered as optional extras for Vauxhall astra G (mk4) and the Vauxhall Corsa C"

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Interior to Engine
« on: 09 January 2016, 14:40:12 »
Is there a relatively easy way to root a cable from the interior to the engine bay?

Not had a chance to look yet if there are any obvious ways or not, weather has been playing its tricks as per usual...

Omega General Help / Possible alternator on way out?
« on: 06 December 2015, 20:16:59 »
Engine running nothing else on not even the heater, engine up to temp etc.. Quick Rev sounds normal...

Turn heater on quick Rev slight difference in sound from the engine like a muffled grinding sound..

Heater, lights, heated seats ON etc.. and the grinding type sound is much louder.

(I'm probably describing the sound completely wrong)

To me it sounds like an alternator problem..?

The alternator went completely around 2 years ago and tbh the sound does sound familiar from that time but it was much worse then and it went completely at that time, I had it refurbished. Been fine since then. Till now obviously.

The batter is approx 11 months old from CP4L a Bosch S5 Battery 100 (74Ah) was ordered with the reg number. It lasts for weeks if the cars not used I highly doubt it's a problem with the battery.

General Car Chat / New 2016 - Volvo S90 / V90
« on: 03 December 2015, 17:51:55 »
Not a bad looking car compared to the way new cars are looking these days anyway.

Not forgetting the V90 Estate (albeit the Polestar version - Autocar's impression of how the Volvo V90 Polestar might look)

That's one good looking fast estate car IMO, Especially if it'll look anything like that once its released :y

For a FL saloon.

Ideally just need the rear one with the arm/bracket etc.. but I'm also more than happy to buy the front also as a spare.  :y
