It had been ransacked this morning. They took:
1) My car park change cup with about £10 in loose change, and
2) The boots I use when I'm walking the dog, complete with mud and leaves. 

I was a bit annoyed that they refused my CD's. Don't people like New Order these days?

The doors were unlocked. Thick little turds.

The wife is forever leaving her car unlocked (fiat panda ) but nobody even looks at it, I hate the little thing, she absolutely loves it.

My dad always used to leave his car unlocked and if the weather was dry he'd leave the windows open too.When I asked him once why,he said "If they want something they'll have it,and if the car's locked they'll break a window to get it.So I may as well make it easy for them and save the damage".Round here they'll brick the windows of a car,not particularly to nick anything,but just for the sake of finding something to do with the brick!!!

One day in the early 1980's he parked his car somewwhere in sarf london. One dog that used to go to work with him was dozing in the car so cracked the windows open for ventilation.

When he came back to the car there was blood on the drivers window and the tip of someone's  thumb on the drivers seat......

One of the things i love about this part of Spain is it is like England was in my youth. We never locked our house up except when we went on holiday. Could never find the key. Same with cars.

Here people leave there cars unlocked but do lock them when they go to the big town (20,000 people)  Farmers leave their tractors and caterpillar tractors in the olive groves.

Bigger towns and cities are just like the UK.

I remember posting that I did something similar a while back - lost a set of (prescription) sunglasses and a hoody.  Had video from the doorbell of the thief that TB said was far too poor for the police to do anything with...


...culprit was convicted last week based on the video used to identify him and his subsequent confessing to doing my car and a local shop nearby in the same night

Plenty of years ago, I parked my 2.8 Granada in a public parking house in Bremen City. It was wintertime, the car was dirty and many stuff rumbles around in it.

When I returned, the car was stolen.

Ok, I went to the police station and bought a new old Granada the same day. Some weeks later my insurance payed a couple of Deutschmarks (Granadas where not much worth at that time) and i forgot it.

Three month later i got a ring from the local police station. My Granada was found in a city parking house in Bremen. The car stood in exactly the same place it was stolen from.

Pretty cleaned up, wiped and serviced.

Only the my girl friends cowboy boots were missing.

It does make u feel vulnerable & tad silly by leaving the car unlocked  my rear dashcam timed & listened in as my mig was rummaged.

In & out of the car in less then a minute, thankfully all the good stuff was in the boot.
On reflection it was a wake-up call & following that incident I increased security around the house.
Of course I`d dearly love to carry around a "force multiplier" in the shape of a Browning Hi-power   

But it seems only the bad guys can get tooled up & can pick their ambush times at will
