Title: New Leather Handbrake and Gearstick Gaitors
Post by: DrAndyB on 06 December 2014, 18:35:55
Hi all,

Following on from my earlier pics http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=127030.0 :y (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=127030.0 :y) following my newly treated and painted wheel arches and rear doors (caught early hopefully to avoid the rot  :y), below is the new newly proper leather covered handbrake and Gearstick Gaiters from the local custom trim specialists opposite where I work  :y

They have done a fantastic job and the trim match is superb.

Well happy.  My car is like new with nice smell of leather :D

If I may ask, how much for those two beauties Andy?

£50 cash  :y.

E.Gay was wanting £25-£30ish for a pair but quality was unknown (and not sure which bit of the cow the leather would have come from  ;)

The trim place I used also fitted the nice new leather to the original GM gaiter bases (glued now rather than stapled), and they used the original fabric that came off as a pattern  :y

I have had motor from new, so wanted to try and preserve most of original, and thought £50 for custom leather to match the originals was not bad.

It should be  :y   The place has regular deliveries of Bentleys, Mercs, Aston Martins etc so I thought they should be able to sort me right with a nice leather Handbrake and Gearstick Gaiter :D

The trim match is remarkable, better then the original I would say which was NOT leather and not a leather mottled finish which is what console is so the new gaiters even match the surroundings !!!!

Thanks. I watched RR build a diamond studded Rolls tonight, I might buy it. ::)
