I don 't think much will beat an Omega on comfort. Weekend before last, I had reason to get back from my recent trip to Jockular land fairly promptly, so I got into the Omega and drove for 550 miles, stopping only to fill it up with fuel. (Had I not been too tight to use the tank of petrol that was sitting in the back, I could have done it without stopping). Got out and after a cup of tea I felt like I could get back in and do it again.
I've said before about one of our trips with friends to the South of France in a day (and its 2.5hrs from here to Dover, plus the (then) Seacat). So a long day almost solid driving. The other drivers in the convoy were getting ratty over the walkie talkies, it was commented on how relaxed, laid back and chilled Mrs TB and I were...  ...even when we turned up and the site staff were not expect us (cock-up on their part).  It is so desperately easy in and Omega :y

That was the year when the journey home was not exactly trouble free...  ...although my return trips from France rarely are ;D

I agree on the comfort; wind it up to 90mph on the autoroute, engage cruisecontrol, insert an interesting CD and just waft along for hours. I couldn't do that in the 525 I used to have due to the short gearing.

I get from my aunt's house near the Spanish border to Calais in 10hours, without any issues. That's 725 miles. I can't take my mum's Focus to Heathrow and back without suffering for the rest of the day.

Why did you opt for the Ford over the D-Max Aaron?   :-\

Daughter has just got the 3.2 diesel(?) auto version of that. Quite nice, but not as comfortable as the Omega. :y

It looks just as orange in the dark 8) Loads of room inside, if a bit plasticky, but then I guess it is an open top van essentially  ::)

A far better bet than the X trail :y
