average life of a "modern"autobox is anywhere between 60,000 to 100,000 after that you are on borrowed time ;D

Mine has done 115,000 so far

ive just left the volvo T5 scene and it was quite an experience.
my 850 had a rr proven 270bhp through the front wheels and was mental.
very reliable cars but they are well known to have "weak" boxes.
probably not "weak" just the silly power they have to deal with IMHO  ;)

Junked my last XC70 T5 as the 5 speed box was abysmal - a practical car - but too involved and expensive to run.

Dealer solution to interior light micro switch fault? – change the entire door lock assembly.  Sadly this trait was representative of the dealer mentality.

Was the last in a long line of Volvos from the Amazon 123GT to the 760 GLE.

i do and i dont lol
it easily remaps to 250bhp and for example timing belt is every 90/110k rather than 40k
and it's alot better built than even a facelift omega, still like omegas but just silly little things wrong with them, they do have a nice tank hatch door shutting noise though haha!
might get a 3.0 still just to chop the backbox off of so it sounds like a tank too :P

they arnt really weak gearboxes, the M56 like in mine arent known for not being able to handle the power as the T5's with 250bhp and 350 i think nm of torque use an M56 on the 5 speed and the D5 with 163bhp and 380nm i think has an M56 gearbox, apparently they dont like ramming the gears really fast though like racing shifts lol!

lol i wouldnt mind a V70R :P
apparently the V70R's only available in gaytronic lol!

(just have to get mine remapped) :P
T5's power delivery's a bit pants anyway, the 2.5lpt S60 is as fast to 60 as the T5 with 40 more bhp lol!

Yeah but then the 2.5 begins to go backwards.

lol yeah but thats because of the 40bhp difference in peak power, not alot of difference in peak torque.

if i had mine remapped it'd piss on a T5 because i'd get the wider power band and then i'd have slightly more peak power :P
