That's another year before you have to replace it then ;)

Yeh that's what the missus said  ;D
Don't want to get to the point were I have to scrap it so i'm going to sort out the wheel arches and other bits and bobs while I look around then sell it on.
They can't be many 3.2 Mv6 estates out there with totally sorted suspension / bushes, a proper manual conversion and once the arches are done, very little rust  :y
164K miles and sweet as a nut engine and LPG if the new owner can be bothered to fit a new LPG tank  :y
I hope you find a good home for it, MV6 Estates are worth preserving :y

Yes, should have kept mine, Hindsight. Think it's in Poland now.

Removed the fuel tank from Project Horace (Mk2 Golf with more hole than car). Now just to strip the underseal and cross my fingers I don't have to pick it all up with a dustpan and brush... Or a Henry.

Drove one of them.
Probably last day of summer here in Ireland so being a man of infinite leisure now  ;D decided to have a little road trip up and over the Caha mountains and home via what is known as the Healey Pass . Almost no vehicles on the 65 miles travelled and absolute silence wherever I stopped with the advantage of a total lack of fellow humans .....Bliss . :y

Lovely car, and rather nice surroundings too  :y

I picked the BMW up on Friday and put 600miles on it since. So far I'm very impressed. As a jack of all trades, it's a pretty remarkable vehicle.  8)

Kerry is a stunningly beautiful place. I think the only place Ive been to that could compare to it is the area around the lakes in Northern Italy.
Beemer looks lovely too.  :y

Exhaust pipes of 2 1/4 inches and 2X2 rear muffler already corroded by rust, replaced by new pieces of 2.5 inches in diameter and at the end double chrome tips of 3 inches. Music of 3000 engine at the limit of legality.  ;D :D ;D :D

Cut out a small piece of rust under header tank (so top of inner wing/ wheelarch) and ended up with a hole the size of a £2 coin.
Welded a patch over the hole and repainted the area.
Need to underseal the underneath of it, but that will have to wait for a drier day.

What a beautiful place! Typical winding road through the mountains, very common in my state, especially in the central and southern regions.  :y

A sudden loss of full power reminded me I really need to look at the big black pussy.

Still, the door lock motor eventually arrived, so I also have that to look forward to.  As thats the forth, hopefully it will be the last time I have to do one.

.

Have had all 4 replaced on the RRS be interesting to see how long they last, 2 last year (rears) & had the 2 fronts replaced  last month  when having new discs & pads fitted as they were starting to play up no mention in the service history of them being replaced before, they are a really common fault.

I am told its the same issue as the Omega one and lots of other marques, not enough wetting current through the switch contacts so they all 'go' at the same time
