They're potentially the same, but your link doesn't give spring dimensions.

Save the six quid and buy the ones I linked to :y Decent seller, have used for several items over the years  :y

looking at both, the £65 ones are "Coil Spring With Constant Wire Diameter" the cheaper are wit pigtail ends ,as per carlton (which snap ,and is a fail mot wise)

the same problem with astra G estate , the newer "Coil Spring With Constant Wire Diameter"  don't loose the pigtails

plus the postage is quicker on the £65 ones  ;D

But thanks for your input DG  :)

All Omega rear springs have pigtails. Accept and move on  :y

That's to say that the ends of the springs reduce to a 2" loop. Spring wire thickness is 15mm for the entire length :y

Swore at it...

51,000 trouble free miles in 18months and it waits till I'm living in a burger van, with access to 10% of my tools and then the o/s rear brake seizes. B!tch.

Still, I shall not be defeated. Just about to order everything I can think of and then borrow my mates drive. "working from home" on Friday I suspect.  ::)

Broken it...

Went to got out, remote didn't unlock it, so unlocked with the key... promptly setting the alarm off as I opened the door. Key in the ignition and nada. Battery voltage a whole 7.8 volts ::)

Battery currently on charge, but car has only been sat since Wednesday lunchtime, so suspect battery is toast... Will run KW's excellent test guide to rule out alternator ;)

Well, at 14.35v (dropped to 13.8v briefly with everything switched on before coming back up to 14.25v) at idle, the alternator is clearly ok.

Don't believe that I had left anything switched on, so have acquired a new battery to prevent any further issues.

You ought to spend £20 on a drop tester....

Worth checking if there's any significant current draw when parked up too. Last time this happened to me the heated rear windscreen relay contacts had welded themselves closed.

I've had one of those in my Amazon wish-list for a couple of years.. I, too, should invest, given the BMW has taken a liking to discharging itself swiftly.

It doesn't need to be anything special as you're only using it as an indicator, so a cheapy will do: LINK which is the first one listed on Ebay

I carried one like that(they all seem to be the same) in the truck until I wanted one that took up a lot less space. Sealey's BT102 is what I replaced it with, and still have. I vaguely recall it was about £50, but I velcroed it to my jump pack and used it daily

Thanks.  Wasn't ever sure if the cheapies were up to the job. I guess all those £15 type ones that look like your link are all from the same chinky factory, and are much of a muchness?

Cheers

Settles down to a smidge under 0.2 MPs doors locked/alarm set/display off.

Unlock it and it spikes before settling at 0.35 with the interior lights (all led) on.

Ignition on, doors closed and it's around 1.15.
