Yesterday, collected it after Mrs TB hit something she shouldn't have on Friday. 'dangle berries'.

Oops... Another jousting mark?
I wanted to use a big hammer, but have been told it needs a skillfull professional...

Not exactly. Output is pulsing on and off at about 1Hz regardless of engine speed. Almost as if it's shutting down due to current limit or something. Might be something dragging it down, of course.

In the event it only got the regulator out of the 2nd hand alternator fitted last time due to the desperate need to get it back mobile, so was always planning to replace it with a new reg. ::)

Just off to do some diags.

Technically it is not what I have done to my car today it is what VXL V6 has done today to my car!

One door card removed, dried out, a little attention put back together and one annoying rattle gone.
Car washed.

Killed it--oil everywhere  >:( -do i fix it  :-\  243000 miles and thats it game over me thinks+ smokes like an old kenworth :o

I wouldn't have thought that a prefacelift would have such problems.  :-X :D

This was the typical Facelift problem of rattling door pins caused by the top locating strip detaching itself from the doorcard. Easily resolved with a good dose of 'no more nails' and a few hours leaning against the radiator.
