General Car Chat / Car covers
« on: 04 January 2018, 21:40:05 »
With the new car on the way I’m looking to put the omega in my garage, can anyone recommend a car cover to protect her while she’s resting?

I’m glad my omega wasn’t there!

Always nice when that happens, I’ve had a couple of comments including my local VX dealer saying it was the best Vauxhall ever built!
Hardly surprising I want to store it and show it off at shows

Looks like an Elite and a very pricy one considering

General Car Chat / New exhaust

I’ve noticed that the new back box on my exhaust is cylindrical and the old standard one was rectangular, any reason for the change?

A Gray saloon on the Colchester bypass RX02HXJ, clearly had a load on board

Pleaesed to report I got her back and after parting with my hard earned she’s running a lot more quietly than before, partly due to new boots and partly a new exhaust!
The bad news is that the sump pan and sump gaskets need to be replaced as does the rear main oil seal and it’s looking like an engine out job!

There’s a grey 52 plate CD saloon in Hitchin, never seems to move and always seems boxed in

Clearly I’m younger than you lol, 1 Peugeot 309, an Astra b hatchback, 1 corsa 1.2, 2 Corsa 1.8s 2 Vectra C SRi an Astra VXR, Saab 93 aero estate and my much loved Omega to date soon to be joined by a new every day car😊

Had there been a wrong diagnosis and had I not taken the advice on here then presumably the car would not have been mechanically sound over the summer?  and as for constructive comments about the AC failing, it’s fair to say that as with any mechanical equipment it will only run for so long without faults occurring!

There’s been a 4 wheel track done too, the fronts were scrubbing the inner edges, it seems they were all wearing evenly apart from that all within roughly the same distance of the twi

There are a few rounderbouts where I live but I was surprised how quickly the omega has gone through all four tyres, (I’ve only lived here just over a year) I knew the exhaust Baffels were breaking down and for the past year as the sound of someone ratteling change under the floor has got steadily worse to the point she’s no longer quite at motorway speeds on the rare occasion she’s pushed.
After all the work last year I was surprised to find the sump had a lipstick pink staining on the front and have been topping up the coolant for the last couple of months.
A leaking radiator is bad enough but, the AC has leaked and needs a replacement pump as well so it’s proving to be a costly Christmas but I wouldn’t be with out her and hopefully she can go back to summer use only when I get my new car😊

I can’t fault the omegas handeling in the snow, very predictable and gentle.
Traction however is a problem on hills and as I live on a hill I’m leaving her at home for now!
