Title: NCDC time hasnt auto adjusted.
Post by: Migv6 le Frog Fan on 06 April 2019, 20:16:36
Clocks changed last week, but the time on my screen hasn't. Im pretty sure it should happen by black magic without me doing anything ?
Any ideas please ?  :-\

Turn the radio on and tune in to Radio 2.

That should then adjust the time ;)

Two buttons above the screen or settings on the head unit iirc, but yes, it's in the manual  ;D

Classic FM, 24 hours of it should do the trick

Since they started messing with it, before Terry popped off, it's gone slowly but steadily down hill.

I know this is an old thread, but I've just noticed the date on my NCDC2013 is wrong. It's saying 7th April 2000. The time is correct, and my default radio station is R2. So I don't know why it hasn't auto set. GPS/SatNav works if that matters.

Under Tuner > Setting is a tick box to automatic set time.

Ensure its ticked.

Auto Time set is ticked, and the time is correct, and it sets itself fine when the clocks go forwards/back. It's the date that's wrong. Have manually set it but not sure why it doesn't auto set. Not that the date does very much.

Requires a spell of Radio 2. Which is a shame now that it's shit.

That's the only channel I ever listen to*.

*Except Jeremy Vine. If I have the misfortune to be in the car when he's on I tune to Heart FM.

It used to be the only thing I listened to, but after killing off Alex Lester and employing Jo Whinely, (not to mention continuing to employ Jermey Whineshit and pushing out Simon Mayo) most of my listening is podcasts or spotify ::)

Get DAB in your car. Hundreds of stations on there. Its the one thing I prefer about driving Airfix 1 over the Omega.

Who needs DAB when there's a whole Internet available  :D

I preferred Absolute classic rock, but it seems to have disappeared. Also listen to LBC and TALKRADIO, depending on presenters and topics being discussed. Havent tuned into the Gaydio station yet, but never say never.

Strange it does the time but not the date.

If you were nearer, I'd suggest reflashing the NCDC, as I have seen one or 2 with corrupted flash.

Well it looks like my NCDC has developed Alzheimer's. I set the date over the weekend, and it's now forgotten again and reverted back to 14th April 2000. The time is still correct though.

I've got a long-ish drive tomorrow to Harwell, and will probably be listening to R2 for most od the way. Will see if it 'learns'.

Especially if listening over lunchtime.  I'd be suicidal if I had to listen to that me, me, me prick Whine.

I rarely, if ever listen to radio now. Spotify for me, unlimited tunes on demand with no adverts.

I don't feel the need for background noise, sorarely turn the stereo/TV on, whether at home or in the car. When I do it's because there's something I actually want to listen to/watch.

Must admit that i quite like a nice drive without some DJ with verbal diarrhea whittering on and on. It,s worse than SWMBO. :D Just use it for traffic news on a run.

Had the battery and dash out to try and fix the F15 fuse problem. Plugged everything back in. The time auto corrects after about 10 minutes of listening to R2. The date however doesn't - or at least not correctly. IIRC the date initially showed January 1st 2000. It is now showing 20th June 2000. 7168 days out. 0x1C00 Hex days. Smells like some sort of millennium bug to me, although 0x1C00 days is a bit strange.
