"Futuristic electronics" = piece of hardboard with some switches screwed to it. ;D

A unique opportunity, for sure. :-X

"The car is still a project although I have done most of the hard work."

Only if you look at it through 12-pint beer goggles.

"A small piece of welding to the sills, brakes finishing, interior, not much."

A master of understatement is at work, here.

That's very generous of you Aaron ;D

Considering that the bodywork was clearly pieced together from existing parts(the roof and side windows are very familiar, and I could probably name the rear quarters), snotting a partial sill repair in place is just papering over the cracks. Despite that, it's not bad looking although the Beetle running gear is a serious turn off.

Very similar in shape to the Renault 8 that my driving instructor used for lessons.

I bet you looked more like this, though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeLi2TEvMII

Dress sense included (my favourite, though, is the very "French" use of the seatbelt...)

What a great example of why "drug dealer" tyres and automatic gearboxes have made driving dull. :y
