Air con dryer time limit
« on: 28 July 2015, 21:47:26 »

Does anybody know how long a new dryer will last when connected to a drained air con system?
I've replaced my condenser, and don't want the new dryer to become spent before the regas.
Do I have a short time limit?

I'd get it Vac'ed and refilled ASAP. The longer it's exposed to air, the more moisture it'll absorb.

The guy who filled my system used a hot-air paintstripper on the filter dryer whilst vacuuming the system down. He said it helps to remove more of the moisture, even though it should boil off under the vacuum.

No idea how effective but I doubt he'd do it unless he thought it helped ...

I know nothing .....
