Coolant flowing out of the exhaust means only one thing.  Still flumoxed as to how I could have done it.  Filled the coolant up, burped the pipes, ran it and kept topping it up and then the telltale white plume of vapour and water pee-ing out the back  :'(

Oh well, I may have to get myself a company car now.  I'll start a new thread because I will definitely need advice on that.

Stripped the plenum and intake off of kitty to replace a breather elbow that was leaking and causing the EML to come on randomly.  Changed the coils and plugs while I was at it and had the dreaded coolant hose plastics break on me too so there was another 120 quid in parts.  Swapped out the stabilisor rods and drop links too as they were shot.

Anyone would think an MOT is on the horizon ::)

Looks like I has shagged it  :'(
Eek

How badly  :-\

There was a small stream out the offside pipe, so much so that I suspect the cyclists who use the paths may come a cropper as there is a little bit of oil from the exhaust in there too.

well you had it running ,so not hydrolocked with bent rods and holes in the block  :)
you'll probably need a couple of oil and filter changes once you dry plugs ,throttle body etc
plus side , you gave it a good colonic irrigation  ;D

I will have to wait until tomorrow or friday to fully strip it down and dry it out.  Fingers crossed no major harm done.

So easy to do Matt, I did something similar, but not so extreme, with vac pipes on a Scirocco years ago. Fortunately, the mobile phone 'should' make life easier now. I hope it is OK. :y

Bought a new tyre  :'(

And judging by the way the Battlebus was aquaplaning on the way back from Gatwick over the weekend, that needs new fronts, irrespective of its tread wear.
