You also have to bear in mind that the MOT monkey has targets to hit in terms of pass/fail and the number of advisories.  So take it with a pinch of salt. :y

Pick up a handful next time you're in the scrappy, or, for that matter, why not simply take one from the full spare set of bulbs you keep in the car at all times...  ;) because we all carry one, don't we?  :) scratches chin...

MOT pass with one advisory..........buy a different car. :)
You're suspicious about an Omega passing with one adviso?
.
I have all the MOT history for the car, only ever had 1 previous advisory before I bought it for a cracked door mirror housing, it failed last year on the exhaust system (original one) so OE exhaust system fitted at dealership,  so with 92,000 on the clock it is doing OK still drives beautifully , only covers about 5,000 miles pa now as I am semi retired intend keeping it til 2019 when I retire fully.

Doesnt reall matter about using them in the rears but in the fronts it gets rid of the 'fried egg' look you get with orange coloured bulbs...

Iv used them in 4 of my cars so far and always passed an MoT with them installed...

The MoT man would have to be very picky if he fails a car on a bulb that hasn't been approved.... as long as it glows amber when it needs to - what does it matter...? ;) ::)
Not interested or have the time/energy/enthusiasm in getting embroiled in a debate about rights and wrongs, but just because a car passes an MOT, that sure as hell doesn't mean its road legal or even road worthy. Even at the point it is tested.

My mate has his own garage and mot bay. On older cars he pops an advisory or two on with bits that are ok but look not as good as they could. He does it to keep the mot inspectorate away from the door. Places that don't put advisories onto older cars regulary get visited and checked over on all procedures. He won't let anything go that should be failed, just keps the dvla off the premises
