Just putting all the paperwork in the service file for the Hyundai which had its MOT yesterday, it goes to the main dealer for most things & they do a health check, just seen on the printout this " horn working but not on a high pitch" is this just a case of cleaning all contacts which are easily accessible or is it new horns required?

Very likely to be two horns, one for high and one for low tone. The contact that wants cleaning will be the one inside the high tone horn - good luck with that.

My approach would be
1. give the offending horn a tap to try and wake it up
2. check for a broken wire
3. fit a new horn (or drill out all the rivets and open up the old horn to clean the contacts)

but the easiest approach would be to buy a new one

The bracket on the Omega is prone to fatigue failure, often leading to one horn falling off, taking the plug with it... Whilst checking the plug and wiring make sure it's still present

Get a matched pair: one high, and one low tone. They're much more effective that way, and only shitty cheap cars have just one.

I amused my students back when I had to work for a living by designing a "granny-scarer" - I wired a pait of very loud Maserati air horns off the normal horn vis a c2second delay circu8ir, such that the horns operated normally for a couple of seconds,and if the horn button remained pressed for longer than that, the maseratis came on and sent nearby pedestrians scurrying to marks & Spencers!

a more helpful suggestion might be to try a less greedy fussy mot place.

Was not mentioned on the MOT just the annual health check for items which may require attention in the near future.

I can read Some cars have the two horns mounted separately, some on substantial brackets and some, like the Omega, on a single bolt through two thin pieces of steel, which break. IF the horn is present, then it will be either a wiring issue, a faulty horn or an earthing fault... which depends on how it is wired

A free test, before ordering one, is to swap the horns over and see if the tone changes. If it does then it's an electrical problem. If it doesn't then the horn is toast

Initially my Omega only had one of the two working and it was the convoluted conduit/sleeve that had worn through the wiring to one of the horns
