Omega General Help / Rear arch repair advice.

Have parked up Omega a few years ago and have not been on forum as a result. My dad has taken ownership and is going to tidy Mig up and drive it occasionally going forward. With this in mind, the rear arches are very crusty. Inner lip has disintegrated since I parked it up. Am looking for advice on best way to approach repair. Are there repair sections available or is replacing complete rear quarters the way to go.

Is replacing the sunroof controller the only option when cleaning the disc as below does not work?

Omega General Help / V6 Coolant Leak

Noticed when replacing the timing belt signs of a slight coolant leak between the heads. Hoping it's from the thermostat housing but should I lift the oil cooler for a look also?

Omega General Help / Windows fogging up.

Have a 01 3.2 with climate control. It's that time of year again when inside windows are very difficult to clear. A/C compressor was leaking gas which made the problem worse. I replaced it with one from the scrappy but that was almost as bad as the one I took off. Don't think there is much point trying another s/hand one so was wondering is there a reconditioned A/C compressor available that comes recommended?

Got myself a self dimming mirror from a 07 Vectra. Want to fit it to my mig & but have 2 questions.
- What surround do you use around the mirror as the vectra one accomodates rain sensor and is way to long?
- The vectra has a ribbon going to the mirror instead of a wiring loom. Anybody tried to join wires onto one of these?

Have this since 05. Used as daily transport till may last year. Parked up since as cannot justify road tax spend over here .
Gonna keep it for occasional use. Has couple of dents & marks here & there & suffers from phantom sunroof & stereo but in no rush to sort them. Standard car apart from rear spoiler, V6 badges on wings & wired parks lamps into bootlid.

Is it possible to install CD70 Sat nav & colour info display from a 08 Vectra into 01 facelift Omega. Units will be put into delivery mode before removal from Vectra but is there a way of interfacing non can bus car to can bus head unit?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Sunroof Gremlin

My sunroof has developed a mind of its own. It opens itself a fraction on tilt and then closes itself. It could do it 3 times in a row and then not do it again for days. I have reset the pinch guard on the motor but it didn't help. I think a fault in the switch is the problem. Is there any cure for this other than a new motor/switch assy.

Omega General Help / Passenger seat height adjust failure

Have a 01 Omega with elec. seat height adjustment. When I operate the switch to adjust height I just get a clunk but no movement. Is it motor failure as I suspect or is there something seized in the seat base? Any advice appreciated.

Newbie Welcome Area / Greetings

Amazing forum for all things Omega. I have had mine since 05 when it came up for sale. I work in our family run Opel dealers in the west of Ireland so have a bit of knowledge on Omega. They unfortunately are rare enough in Ireland above 2.0 as road tax is astronmical on anything above a 2.0. (My 3.2 is €1566 annually).

Am blown away by the dept of knowledge of forum members and the willingness to share with other Omega enthusiasts. Will post a few pics of the Omega when things get a bit warmer.

General Car Chat / Can front Foglights be retrofitted to an Insignia

Is it possible to fit front foglights to an Insignia to original equipment spec? Have been informed it's not as there is no wiring in place if they were not factory fitted as the looms are bespoke to each vehicle. Have heard of it being done with an independent switch but would only consider doing it if genuine switch can be used.
