General Car Chat / Is the public bored shitless with F1?
« on: 10 July 2016, 10:13:26 »
Town was quiet on Friday night, I wasn't woken this morning by hoards of helicopters flying over.

Has the dull sport had its day?

General Discussion Area / Thanks to Marks DTM Calib

I popped up to see him last weekend, the reason why escapes me - clearly it was a fairly tenuous one ;D

However, he gave me a small gift, and I'm please to say that I've used it to fix a troublesome inkjet printer. Just the tool for the job, thanks Mark :y

General Discussion Area / What have I done?
« on: 17 June 2016, 18:09:31 »
I've just ordered 2 things off egay.

What are the chances of one of them causing so much grief I'll have to contact egay.  So far in the last year, I've had nearly a 100% failure rate with the 'tards selling shite (and I've long given up selling stuff on there, due to the idiots you have to deal with...   ...something I reminded Mrs TB of earlier when she blew her stack over some frekless 'tard who'd bought something off her, and felt that she shouldn't have to pay for it).

Fingers crossed, but I would be disappointed if it all goes Pete Tong.

General Car Chat / Thanks to Serek
« on: 08 June 2016, 00:09:27 »
Over the weekend, whilst away in Wales, the A/C was really struggling.  Knowing I needed to be in Ipswich today, I contacted Serek late last night to see if he was able to regas it.  As always, he squeezed me in, and an hour later, I was continuing along on my way to Ipswich, and it was lovely and chilly.

Just under 300g came out, and 950g in, along with PAG and dye.  Top job, and at a very competitive price.

Thanks Serek :y, good to see you again as well.

Some advice needed, dear friend...

I've been clenched for the last 2hrs, so tightly that my butt cheeks ache.  I've just sat on the potty, and mostly rusty water has come out, but, oooooo, the relief!

My question is, is this what its like to be old?

General Discussion Area / Pension Pt2 (less important!)
« on: 21 May 2016, 09:53:17 »
Reading the sad story of another thread has made me wonder about mine...

Having a number of private pensions through various employers, I don't know what I'm entitled to from state, if I make it that far...

I believe a some points I've been opted out. How do I find out, and is it worth me trying to buy years? How?

Speak like I'm an idiot :y

General Discussion Area / BBQ help
« on: 15 May 2016, 15:42:43 »
I have an emergency el-cheap Tesco BBQ bucket, but I can't seem to keep it alight.

It will need decent airflow from underneath, won't it?

The "basket" for the charcoal only has 5 tiny holes, 4 2mm, and a central one about 4mm, as shown in pic:

That's not going to allow enough air, is it:

General Discussion Area / Poxy egay
« on: 10 May 2016, 18:05:39 »
My expectations of anything from egay is pretty low, as regular members will know. BUT...

I've used it to buy shite 10 times this year. How many refund/return requests have I had to submit this year? Yup, 10  >:(

Its just full of idiots who clearly don't understand that full working order means it has to reasonable do what its supposed to do.If your tat is broken or on its last legs so it won't survived a courier, FFS bin it you useless self-abusers  >:(.  And its not just on "used" items, that includes "new" stuff as well.

Grrrr.

Any genuine interest?

If so, any volunteers to organise it, as I won't be around on the usual weekend.

General Discussion Area / self-abusers

Little bro and Mum live next door to each other.

The other night, whilst having a puff, bro's missus saw people down near his outbuildings, and shouted at them, when the scarpered. Police turned up, but seemingly they'd gone. Police got called away to a nearby disturbance, so left. Bro spent about 45mins trying to get the images of the cctv, then decided to go and better secure his tools and machinery, and also Mums. But in that 45mins, they'd done Mum's outbuildings over, taking mowers, including ride on, and tools  >:(

I hope the 3 wankstains burn slowly in hell, painfully.

General Car Chat / Another GY F1 Assym 2 failure?
« on: 02 April 2016, 23:01:31 »
Just checking over TBE earlier ready for a trip to mums, I notice one of the Goodyear Eagle F1's has brown marks around sidewall. Had this on 2 others a year or 2 back (which GY Dunlop did admit liability as something that shouldn't happen)

So of the 6 GY F1's I've had on Omegas, 4 have suffered failures.

Another manufacturer off the list :(
