And me ;D  I walked past both of them this morning, and haven't been out since. If the snow survives the night I'll be walking to work tomorrow.

Found out the radio won't recognize the fact that the CD magazine is in it so won't play any CDs and it won't eject the cartridge either >:( >:(

Put a tenners worth of diesel in the 190 on the way to work, as the vegoil is getting a bit thick in this weather and making it cough and fart a bit.

Yesterday (actually, I started the job yesterday, but got it finished today at 1.30 am local time) replaced manual gearbox with new used one and new clutch+(single mass) flywheel assembly.

DMF to SMF conversion made with these parts:
- flywheel from Vectra B 2.0 engine (20XEV?)
- clutch plate from Saab 9-3/900 2.0i/9.3i my. 97 -> (got this fast, I think any plate with 14 teeth and diameter 215 mm will do).
- pressure plate from Z22XE
- adapter for slave cylinder. New flywheel with clutch assembly was about 2 cm lower than original.

Works well, car maybe got some more power due to half lite flywheel and clutch now plays more logically.
Getting air out of the clutch system was interesting job. I've done it earlier with success, but now it was not so easy job for some reason  :(

Finally got it to work by plugging hose from front caliper bleed nipple to clutch bleed nipple. Then just pump the clutch system full of brake fluid by pumping brake pedal slowly. Reservoir level dropped like 2 cm, so there was a lot of air  :y (Brake fluid was changed about a year ago, so I hope not much of crud got in the clutch system from caliper..)

Having got fed up of waiting for the local Jag dealer to get off their arse and sort out the service on my new stead, that they were supposed to do before supply, I called in......

....booked in for Wednesday but, it really shouldn't be this hard!

Welcome to Jag ownership :(. As I think I've said to you on the phone, my experience with Jag dealers is only (just) beaten by my experience with the old Evans Halshaw in Milton Keynes.

As you say, it really shouldn't be this hard. And nobody should treat their customers with such contempt  >:(

Discovered this morning that those Ford-esque heated windscreens are utterly shite at removing 4" of snow/ice.

Also discovered today how controllable the thing is in provoked slides, which was a pleasant surprise given the nature of turbo'd power delivery.

Cleared 7 inches of snow off the CDX..... was going to fit a new air filter, but the air temp discouraged me somewhat.  ;D
