Fuse 7
« on: 20 May 2020, 13:57:16 »

Is it ok to run the car without fuse 7 in as it is causing me a 0.28 amp loss. Reading the service book it mentions something about oil and some control thing besides interior lights.

You should probably investigate further, as the fuses run more than they advertise ;)

Assuming we're talking about a 3.2 Facelift Omega Elite and not a Battlebus or Barge....F7 directly feeds two destinations...

1) CSR Line 1338 - which is relay K153 - which is the Consumer delay relay buried behind the dash. I'd pull that and see if the fuse stops blowing. It's unlikely to be K153 itself - it'll be one of the loads that it switches, and there are lots of them.  >:( None appear to be safety related though.

2) MCO Line 3046 - which is control unit K149 - which is the Minimum Capacity Engine Oil unit. Dunno where that lives though.

Well Steve I done a parasitic draw test and it was 0.36 Amps, so I started pulling fuses and when I pulled fuse 7 it went down to 0.06 which I believe is acceptable, battery is pretty good so I didn’t notice it at first until I left the radio on for two days and didn’t realise u TIL I had started testing for drain which was 1.2 amp when I first started and went down to the 0.36 when I switched it off.  Lco12g. I can hear a constant click click click noise under the dash but when I remove the fuse it stops so looks like I need to find that relay.

How long did you wait for, the accessories relay remains energised for many minutes after key off. :y

Ahh, yes Mark I done that,  I also left it overnight with the bonnet open I’ve tried loads of ways to overcome that as I was aware of it👍 However now I know what it is I will put the fuse back in and try again,The interior lights were only working when they wanted to as well so I’m going to look for the relay and try a new one
