Not a bad price from here

http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Vauxhall_Omega_2.5_2000/p/car-parts/car-cooling-parts-and-car-heating/air-conditioning1/car-compressor/?232720211&1&ff9efa8cf973c5f4b5a293a0e8b005c03cde6e9b&000077

its actually Europarts but a cheaper listing :y

Thanks for that.
Hmmm, I see they say that the Receiver/drier must also be replaced, I assume that is the condenser radiator. Is that necessary?

I used a coolcaraircon.co.uk to re-gas and used their associated a/c parts supply company for the new compressor. I did get an assurance from the local technician that there was no need to replace the receiver/dryer because my system fault was due to compressor leak rather than known seizure etc so guarantee would be honoured. I preferred to deal with people I could talk to during the process even though I was doing the 'donkey work'. You may wish to seek similar assurance? Make sure it is a compressor fault though so far as you can, you don't want to be chasing a/c leaks, that is expensive. At least you have evidence at the compressor.

i bought a decent secondhand one from robg to put on mine.i think the going rate for a recon one is about £175.i dismantled one to see if i could rebuild it, but basically it was not worth the effort(no spares appear to be available).

I had to replace the compressor on the MV6 a couple of years back, as it would only hold refrig for about 3 months, tell tale sign of dye on the middle of the compressor.

Pinky and I did it twice - the first compressor I stole off on of his breakers when he wasn't looking had the same fault, but the 2nd one has been spot on.

Exactly my symptoms. If anyone has done a rebuild, please let us know. :y
