And damn you all.. you made me wonder what categories I have on my license so I went to check, and now I realise my license isn't in my wallet... I hope it's still at home somewhere and not lost (I'm in a hotel for work) :-X :-X :-[

This has reminded me that I need to renew my licence which expires on the 25th and I'd forgotten.  ::)

Problem is that I'm also away for a few days and won't be able to put my application in until I get home and can get my passport number.  :(

I might be walking for a few days after the 25th...  :-[

And no need for a trailer A frame is fine.

I believe what DG was saying is that a car on an A frame, behind a motor home, counts as on a trainer for the purposes of the law - whether it's on an A frame or a trailer.

Whether it's an a frame, a trailer or a car, as long as your max weight is less than 12 tonne, it's fine.....as far as I can see.
I certainly wouldn't like to try it, entitled or not. Fine on motorways and some a roads, but I think I'd be a bit dodgy on smaller roads.

I've been towing all kinds of trailers for donkeys years building equipment, classic cars + my twin axle 26 foot caravan so a little car on an A frame is going to be a piece of  piss.

The change to C1E includes a retrospective limit of 750kgs   (8,250kgs MTW) unless you pass a +E test for the applicable vehicle.

Yes, but the trailer would still be limited to 750kgs as it's a van/truck and not a car :y

Got to spend a few bob on the flat yet, new kitchen bathroom, windows doors etc. Make it more attractive belonged to wifes stepbrother , slightly eccentric character never did anything to the place as it is would sell for about £330,000 intend spending about £25,000 on it before going on the market for £425,000. In its favour is where it is + he renewed the lease last year so it has 124 year lease.
