n/s rear window
« on: 20 December 2018, 00:37:06 »

quite a few times neighbours have informed me that Ive left a window open. when looking its usually down about an inch. I don't know if its a fault or that I am inadvertently without realizing pressing the button.

Possibly pressing the button as you haul yourself out of the car...

Keep the lock button on the remote pressed for 3-5 seconds when you lock up should sort it ;)

Try ignition on, press window down button and keep pressed for 5 secs once the lowest point is reached. Then press window up and keep the button pressed for a further 5 secs once the window is fully closed. That should reset the fully closed and fully open positioning. So that the one touch function on the button works properly and the window doesn't stop partially open if you don't keep your finger on the button.

Same principle also works on the sun roof.

do this quite often on mine  . . . . it is easy to lightly touch the rear window buttons on the drivers door switch cluster without noticing  ;) ;)

You only need to press & hold the 'up' to reset a window   ;)

Hello. I have just purchased a 2001 Omega 2.5TD Estate and this is exactly the problem I'm getting. The rear n/s window (intermittently) just opens when the ignition is switched off and the key is removed. I have tried the re-set and it has made no difference. I have tried to identify if I'm doing something different when it happens and I'm not. The only thing I haven't tried yet that I can think of is to try the other key. It's not a big issue I just have to check each time I exit and if it opens, I can shut it remotely with the c/l key. However, if anyone has an insight that will help me sort this out, then please tell...

Is it when you switch off, or when you close the door?

I'm possibly thinking along lines of a faulty switch that briefly makes contact when the door is closed due to the inertia in the door (either drivers door or the door with the faulty window)

or the open window signal wire has lost insulation and earthing out in the loom of the door shut
quite common to have wires snap and earth out in the door looms on many cars  :-\
