Probably just the Chinks playing with their country firewall and knocking off their pointless search engine...

Now you really are making me worried, especially after reading Rod2's latest parinoid outburst about state propaganda and the BBC controlling all of us! Perhaps then OOF blip is all part of that conspiracy because the chinks have read what we all write and they want to "educate us" God help them and thier sanity! :P :P ;D ;D ;D

Oh well, as my dear far left socialist dad always said, it is far better being red than dead! ::) ::) ;D ;D
Have a look at Years and Years on BBC  :-X sorry bbc sshhh.....Lizzie, it'll put the wind right up yer  ;D

That is on my to do catchup list Steve as I just have not been able to watch what is, to many, a great BBC production, with wonderful actors, written by a master of creativity, and worth the £13 per month on its own!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

I have of course seen the trailers and picked up what this is about. Thank God It is fiction, but it could happen, just as much as other terrible historic events have with a very unpleasant conclusion. Perhaps the BBC are using this production as the propaganda Rod is warning us of that comes from that organisation........... :-X :-X ;) ;D

Nope. Produced by RED productions then sold to the Beeb.

No, the BBC commissioned the production and this is not usual as many are made by all different companies with their staff in conjunction with the BBC and what they want in terms of standards and general production values.  The writer of this series, of Doctor Who and Torchwood fame, in particular knew he was writing for the BBC.

These links are so often to be found at the end of the credits, and usual for the TV industry in general :)

Years and Years and Gentleman Jack, yet more BBC drama with a strong PC slant on LGBT issues. Each to their own for me but the Beeb continually push it in our faces. >:(

LBGT. You're so yesterday, Ronnie. It's LGBT and lots of other letters now:  ;D

The initialism LGBTTQQIAAP (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, intersex, asexual, ally, pansexual) has also resulted, although such initialisms are sometimes criticized for being confusing and leaving some people out, as well as issues of placement of the letters within the new title.

I understand your point of view, but are these productions just reflecting the REAL society out there, and the tremendous mix that the human race is?  In the past the TV only vaguely touched on 'sensitive' issues, like Till Death Do Us Part, 1960's and Eastenders from the 1980's starting to delve deeper into those subjects with some risky, for those days, viewing.  I think most of us on here remember all too well the strictly black and white view of things on TV that reflected the strict conformity expected of everyone post war.  I therefore grew up never knowing about the diversity of life, as everything was 'hidden' away. Remember even women talking about that, you know, thing (sex!!) was not done old boy!

So the BBC and all other channels are now showing far more productions reflecting what actually exists out there, and it only appears "in your face" because it is such a shock to the older generations to actually see these things on TV.  As for Gentleman Jack which from a woman's point of view is a fantastic, extremely fast paced, romp that reflects the real life character, Anne Lister as recorded in her secret diary of the time; she was a real oddity for the time of course, but not alone, just being one who made herself more public than others of her character. She now would be readily accepted by most open minded, realistic human beings, but then, oh my God, it went way above talking about...........you know, thingy! ;D ;D ;D ;D

My dear late mother, born in 1928, welcomed the new approach on TV that she witnessed, and often said "at last, things are coming out in the open!". She would have loved the Gentleman Jack production as shew, like so many, knew of such things that were hidden away for her generation - like women having any say in life and the man being master of all, and you must never upset him! ::) ::) :o :D

No, TV with these productions and of course 'The Soaps' amoungst many are very much 21st century in reflecting the nitty gritty of life :y :y

It will not be.  It is just one of the conditions of life, of our species, that is as varied as all the species in the world. Conformity, and that is what it was called, and I touched on in my last post, was not good for the average human being, and in fact was a political tool used by the Church, the Monarchy and the aristocracy to control the commoner, as the members of those classes did what they pleased, with many of those subordinate to them. ;)

You mean like when they "accidentally" announce BGP routes to swallow most of Europe's mobile traffic? ;D

I'm with you,  I'm fed up of all the crap they're peddling, and not just the Bbc, if we keep pandering to all this queer crap there will be no room for anything straight!
Let them carry on but keep it out of the mainstream I say. After all if there's none of us straight people left we will die out as a species.

Whatever happened to puffs and dykes ?

It went with the uncouthness of the dark age, and mankind in the UK at least becoming more refined, tolerant and sophisticated away from bog insults and knuckle dragging attitudes.

Those terms are going the way of the dinosaurs :D :D ;)
