Just a polite reminder
« on: 28 August 2009, 16:07:42 »

This section is for buying/selling Omegas only ;)

I'm not going to go back through older posts and delte them, or lock current posts, but from now going forwards, new posts advertising cars other than Omegas may get nuked without warning.

Cheers :y

Agreed a bit hard but rules are rules and we have to obide by them and it's not up to us as we don't run or pay for the site.

Its not really what we are here for, rather spend our time and resources on what we are here for, if that makes sense :)

I can't see many people on here wanting to buy anything other than an Omega anyhow, so we'd be wasting our time. Just my two penneth's worth. :)

I agree in general, but what about if people are trying to do a deal for a mig?
I could be persuaded to go to the darkside, if the right deal came along  :y

If you want to sell an Omega, this is the place. If you want to sell a 1.2l Punto then go the Fiat forum - surely you will have a better audience for it there?

I don't see what people are whinging about personally.

My standpoint exactly.

Also, some people on here might be looking for a smaller/cheaper car to run about in - maybe even something more exotic as a weekend toy!

So no, I'm not whinging, just looking outside the Omega box.

As webby says.  It took a long time to make the descision and all the forum were involved in debating it.  There has been a lot of agro with fly by night sellers. So it was decided that the sales limits (posts count) would be an indication of someone getting involved with in the forum.

Lets be honest, getting involved in general chat can raise 25 posts with out breakeing a sweat.  2 nights like that and you have 50 posts enabling ou to post a car for sale.

250 posts for parts was after quite some hassle with payments and parts.  If you look in the sale sections I think there is sill a list of unresolved sales.  So because of this it was decided that the post count would act as good indicator.

I for agree one with the Admin, they own and run the site, and on thier behalf we dont want to see it abused.

After spending time on the forum and geting a feel for it, I would then hope that members understand the post count rules.  Of course in time they may change. . .Only time will tell.

Unfair comparison, but I understand your point.

Very true.  However, we only have a few options available to us, and the current arrangement was debated as being the best of the lot.  Even then, we get a high number of issues.

If I had my way, we wouldn't a For Sale section ;)

Fair play on the post count for the for sales and so on.
but as many know there is a way round ie posting it in the test zone, with a lot less points as you need then it gets moved, that is a bit unfair personly said.
I agree with the admin about its an Omega forum and not adtraitor and should be used so. the rules were made to stop things like this.
Thats my oppinion and I'm sticking to it

I think the people who go about it politely and respectfully deserve the chance to have thier posts moved.

The problems are when people just sign up to the forum and randomly post to sell thier cars thats spoil it for members that are here to join in the spirit of the OOF and take part in one section or annother

I get your point but it seems unfair to other newbies who might be to shy or not have the mum to try it.
I do get what you mean though.
