Rods, I had a similar experience in Spain a few years back; after I had sent my steak back FOUR times, the chef must have got the ache with me because he absolutely cremated it and it was solid charcoal and of course inedible!
I did not get a bill.....

Ron.

Probably just as well Ron as he may have added some 'Gentlemans Relish' as well!  :o  ;D

It's probably better, easier and neater to replace from the melted part to wherever they go.

Back to the LPG systems ECU I presume.  :-\  Maybe it goes back to a plug and I can pull the whole lot out.  :-\

Anyway as I don't have a soldering iron, it'll get wrapped in insulating tape for the time being.  ;)

Or can I strip out the whole SAI system, pump, pipework the lot?  Will it throw any codes? EML light on?  :-\

If I strip out the stainless SAI pipe that runs across the front of the engine and blank off the two pipes from the manifolds.  What do I do with the plastic valve that is plumbed in as well?  It has a vac pipe and an electrical connector as well as the rubber pipe.

This one.

I'm thinking of leaving it in place and blanking off the right hand pipe.  :-\  Good plan?  ???  TIA!  :y

These are the LPG injector wires that were melted on the SAI pipe.  Should I cut out the melted bits either side back to good insulation and put in some new wire with connectors or just re insulate with tape?  :-\

I think that the Welsh just wanted it more.  ::)  In the second half they seemed to drop down a gear while England were cruising.  :-\

Well done Wales!  :y

might be a blocked cat..

Hope not.  :(

A spot of googling suggests that the one way valve is kaput, so I'll blank off the pipes at the manifolds and see how she goes.  :-\

I've had a bit of a blow coming from the SAI pump (I think) which has been disconnected for years but left in place and I realised the other day when I tried the 0 - 60 that it was a bit sluggish which I put down to the escape of exhaust gases.  :-\

Yesterday however the blow became very noisey and when I was flooring it all I was getting was a lot of noise and what power was there was jerky.  ::)

On investigation I've found 3 things.

1) SAI pipe has popped off of the manifold pipe on the offside.
2) One of the vac pipes from the front vac box has melted through where it was touching the stainless SAI pipe (the one that goes across the front of the engine).
3) The cable from the nearside bank of LPG injectors has melted through to the wires where it was touching the stainless SAI pipe.

So all in all whilst it's a PITA, it's nothing serious and fixable. :y  It's a bit strange though that the stainless pipe has got hot enough to melt things and the rubber pipe has popped off!  :-\  I havn't done any work in that region for ages, so it's not like the vac pipe and wiring has been disturbed recently.  ::)  :(

I'm undecided whether to strip out all the SAI stuff and blank off the pipes at the manifolds or get another pump and reinstate the system.  :-\

I love a bacon sarnie or a good fillet steak as much as the next (real) man!  :y

But.... I think that as the worlds population inevitably soars, meat eating will become a luxury for the wealthy as it is a fact that much more land is required for the production of meat than for the equivalent amount of plant based food.   ;)

The alternative is factory farmed meat but then of course there are animal welfare issues.  :-\  I bought a largish chicken in Lidl the other day for £4.  When I roasted it there was over an inch of water in the tray, so it had obviously been subjected to some sort of water soaking treatment after slaughter and I did wonder what sort of life that chicken had had.  :-\

Tasted OK though!  :D

Ive just thought of a brilliant business venture. I open a car hire place that rents out old bangers for poeple that want to drive round these places without the fear of monkey ripping bits off of their pride and joy :)

Wow! You could have a whole fleet of Omega's!   :D  Kerching!   :y
