I've had a bit of a blow coming from the SAI pump (I think) which has been disconnected for years but left in place and I realised the other day when I tried the 0 - 60 that it was a bit sluggish which I put down to the escape of exhaust gases.
Yesterday however the blow became very noisey and when I was flooring it all I was getting was a lot of noise and what power was there was jerky.
On investigation I've found 3 things.
1) SAI pipe has popped off of the manifold pipe on the offside.
2) One of the vac pipes from the front vac box has melted through where it was touching the stainless SAI pipe (the one that goes across the front of the engine).
3) The cable from the nearside bank of LPG injectors has melted through to the wires where it was touching the stainless SAI pipe.
So all in all whilst it's a PITA, it's nothing serious and fixable.
It's a bit strange though that the stainless pipe has got hot enough to melt things and the rubber pipe has popped off!
I havn't done any work in that region for ages, so it's not like the vac pipe and wiring has been disturbed recently.
I'm undecided whether to strip out all the SAI stuff and blank off the pipes at the manifolds or get another pump and reinstate the system.
