Phone madness.
« on: 04 April 2019, 17:06:53 »

Not looking for an explanation as I prefer it to be magic.

My phone network provider is lobster. I dIal 717 to access voicemail.

Mrs V is on 3 , two thousand miles away and has 717 in her recent calls list. She uses 123 to access voicemail.

Either she has your phone, or she's checking your voice mail  :-\

Its is magic, somewhere in the Sim and or Phone settings.

At some point you have probably put your lobster Sim (the 717 VM one) into the Wifes Phone, Depending on the Network and Phone, a Voice Mail incoming Call flags up as a Diverted Call and may or may not have a ID Flag in the ID String as to the Originator, ie, +447836121121 or 121, 123, 717, or just "Answer" or "Voice Message" etc, again depending on the Phone, it will remember the setting from when the Sim was inserted and store the info, also putting that number into the Short Dail No. 1. just to make it more difficult international Voice Mail calls and numbers get handled differently when Roaming, again dependent on the Network and whether you have Roamed onto a Partner Network or not.

So bottom line is your Wifes Phone when recieving a incoming Voice Mail Call from Three has 717 stored in the Phone somehow.

If its not that, I have no idea what it is so best just to tell the Wife to chuck it in the bin.  ;D

Nope as I have only had the Lobster SIM ten days so never been in her phone.

Just had a look at my recent call list and I have the three calls she has made today.

Apart from it being magic, my only thought is it must be because we share an icloud.  What has been the trigger is her changing her deal with 3 from 20gb to 100gb a month for very little extra. That involved a new SIM and for a couple of days no incoming calls. Presumably they forgot to associate her number with the new SIM. Before the change of deal  our recent calls werent showing up on each others recent calls list.

Anyway it isn't a problem for either of us

If both devices are on the same iCloud account it will sync call lists.
May also send iMessages and face time calls to both devices.
