Glad to see a few people know where abouts in the country we are.
I must admit that I am part of an 'optional extra' in the geography of Lincolnshire as are those that live in North Lincolnshire.  :-[

I would add that myself and another oofer are Linconshire lads, so that's another two to the pot, as 'twere.

How about a disused airfield...does anyone know East Kirkby, and if they allow clubs and the like to meet up there, like the ABS do at Duxford?

(I'm not calling East Kirkby a 'disused airfield', by the way, it's just a great day out, is all, so if we all decide we don't want to talk to each other theres a taxiing Lancaster bomber to look at instead :y)

Well this thread seems to have died a death, much like the Lincolnshire car industry  :y
No takers? May I suggest a fortnight as of today?

(to all non-yellerbellies the big joke is Lincolnshire doesn't have a car industry)

No DBG, it hasn't died a death.
A meet can be organised any time.
At the moment I am busy at work and family commitments with only one weekend off before Christmas.

Guess what I will be doing then  ::) ::)

But would like to meet up, maybe in the new year mate  :y :y :y

Lincoln could be a reasonable place to meet, being relatively central for all of us...

Glad to see there's plenty of interest in a Lincs meet.

Also the idea of Woodcocks sounds good. The fact that it has the word 'cocks' in it would no doubt keep us all highly amused for the first hour or so.  :D

Myself and two fellow oofers are likely to be meeting in a week or so, to take delivery of a few parts, a fourth will be invited (lives in the same town, rude not to at least invite him!) so perhaps a semi-official/informal meet may germinate from that? Soon as he's confirmed to be coming will post the date.

If I may be so bold as to make a list of those who can attend?

Obviously its not cast in stone, and this is just a provisional thing, just copy and paste, as with the now famous Powerflex Poly bushes thread  :D

The venue looks good although i don't want a big sit down meal but a coffee & a wander around the car park sounds good.
Just got to set a date? Any Sat/Sun is usually ok for me. :y

Woodcocks seems a pleasant enough venue for a meet & a spot of light lunch,11am seems suitable for all so we just have decide between Sat 11 or Sun 12. Sat is a definate for me. Sun is a maybe as my classic meet is attended by folk from the Sth Yorks area who live on steep hils & the classics won't get out so it's dependant on the weather. They either bring thier modern cars or postpone.
We need to decide soon though. :y

sounds good to me if i can get there as im stuck down south at the moment and it sounds like it might be for a while with this weather, it took me an hour to do a mile earlier so the 230 mile journey would kill me  ;D

Sadly looks like my mate RobG1984 wont be attending, as he's STILL waiting for the postman to bring him his tax/insurance. Unfortunately the police seem to think that "I was going looking at Omegas in a car park" isn't just cause for driving without either!

Political correctness gone mad.

Sorry we wont be seeing you either, Amigo

I'll second that.

Very nice to meet you lads and lass. Will upload a couple of ropey cameraphone pics I took today in a bit. Having a phone with built-in Wifi is brilliant, although its ability to upload to the web images is limited when you're mum is currently using it to text.

PICCYS! Just a few with my cameraphone.

You all missed a fantastic meet, around 800 oofers turned up, as you can see by the first photo. This was taken from the Concorde which we all had a free trip in. The next few pics were at the bottom end of the car park, which is why it looks like there are only three Omegas there. The remaining 800-odd cars are behind me. Honest.

It was a very successful meet, met loads of very friendly oofers, though after one of the dancing girls' stilettos pierced the bouncy castle there was little energy left for any more picture taking, and therefore no further evidence.

But it was a great day, and those who didn't manage to get to Lincoln missed out on a real treat. The free backstage passes that AC/DC were handing out, have, before anyone else asks, now run out.

Great fun day and both my wife and I enjoyed it...   Definately looking forward to the AC/DC concert, having those passes will make it such a special event, who'd have thought that their manager would have been in that pub for a drink (even more fortunate that we helpful oofers had our shovels to hand to dig him out from the snow) hence our free passes...

Looking forward to the next meet...

ps.  Thanks for the piccie of my very dirty car...

Glad you enjoyed it folks. You're all lovely people with some brill stories ;)

The AC/DC passes are great. Whilst driving home I was struck by a bolt of lightening from God and He gave me the ultimate secret to fixing Omega's.

I think this must have something to do with the height of Lincoln Cathedral and Heaven  :) :)

We will meet again. Somewhere, sometime in the new year  :y :y :y

not yet going to try and get a second hand one from the scrap yard soon bvut that is the least of it still trying to sort out my rocker cover leak but the consesus seems to be that i need to strip and clean the breathers and then do the rocker gasket again then its just patching up the hole in one of my silencers from a nice chunk of ice going to be quite a bit of welding on my exhaust and thanks to the weather a new windscreen too hate this bloody weather  :( will hopefully make it to the next meet whenever it is

Right, you must get the breathers done, or the gasket will blow again.  As for the silencer, it's an easy bodge until the weather improves. Remember there are a lot of breakers on here, you could soon have a replacement sensor in the post.   :y
