Omega General Help / Sunroof Seal
« on: 13 July 2018, 20:45:32 »
Itís not leaking, but there is an awful lot of wind noise from the front of it. Iíve had it open a few times in hot weather, to cool car down quicker. Sure itís noiser, perhaps not sealed as well. Nice steady 85mph cruise, I had to close the blind itís that annoying.

Does look all cracked and such, it is a 16 years old...

Easy to replace? Worth doing?

General Car Chat / Uh-oh

My car share buddy has just ordered a M140i, with manual box.

Hopefully it proves more reliable than Jimmy's  :o

Does make me wonder though, he is about 6 years younger than me, does own/mortgage his own place. But cruises around in brand new high spec BMW's.

I just use a 16 year old rusting banger barge  :-[  :D  ;D

Anyone used one recently? Do they actually manage to provide a better deal than high street options?

It's renew time this year, looking to wrap this into a house move as well. I want to go fixed rate for 5 years, to ride out what ever the Brexit storm is.

Probably going to go with Halifax again, as all my stuff is with them. 1.79% fixed for 5 Years is about best I can do with them.

Trouble is we've seen a house we really like, but I doubt I can find another 100k behind the sofa  ;D ;D

Car Parts, bits For Sale & Wanted / For Sale: Roof Box

Posted before, but it's locked thread now. Need to have bit of a garage clearcut, I have in the garage loft an un-used Karrite Odyssey 360L roof box.

Looks like this:

Collected from Camberley, Surrey.

Not much of an age, he was looking at doing new version of his TV show as well.

Need replacement glass, for drivers side mirror.

A taxi driver clipped my mirror, the housing survived but cracked the glass.

General Car Chat / Zafira Tourer - Pollen Filter
« on: 03 April 2018, 13:24:29 »
Does anyone know if I need the carbon type filter, for a 2014 Zafira-C? ECP shows both plain white and black carbon versions.  :-\

Rather know via the easy way than having to remove the old one first, as I will need to remove the glovebox.

It does not have climate, just regular air-con.

Rather not have faff of posting, could meet halfway within a reasonable distance of Camberley. Can also bring to Osterley area of London.

Omega General Help / Barke Discs
« on: 22 February 2018, 10:58:04 »
When it's warmed up a bit, I need to replace the front discs on the 3.2, as they are suffering the usual rust build up on the inside of the disc, plus a lip is there so time to replace anyway.

Anyone used ECP's Brembo ones? Do they offer anything other than marketing crap?

50% off on the moment, which sparked my interest, as could get a pair of Eicher's for £35.

General Car Chat / Dealer Showrooms
« on: 20 January 2018, 20:12:56 »
While waiting for the 3.2 to be sorted today, I walked to a Vauxhall and Ford dealer. I wanted to compare the new Insignia vs Mondeo. (By actually sitting in them!)

Whatís odd is neither dealer had one in its show room, the Vauxhall dealer did not have a single new shape Insignia. The Ford dealer had a handful of Mondeos. But these were outside, nothing inside.  :-\

They did have lots of crappy looking SUVís like a Mokka  :(

No idea what the little Ford SUV was, but looked equally crap!

For sorting my 3.2ís sills, an excellent job. Really pleased with the result, should keep the old barge going for a few more MOTís.

I joined the forum in 2006 and Serek in 2008 canít believe itís taken until 2018 to actually put a face to the name  :o

Iíll be back though, worth travelling to excellent people  :y

General Car Chat / Abarth 595
« on: 16 January 2018, 13:21:37 »
Talking with my car share buddy on the way in, he must be a bad influence. (he does drive a BMW)

But I quite like the idea of an Abarth 595  :-[

160 odd BHP in something the size of a shoe, completely what I would not normally look at but good value I think....

Often hear one in the car park at work, sound fantastic. (skip to 40s)

Lord Opti should hopefully be happy, it's not diesel  ::)  ;D
