i dont really want to change head  unit unless i really have to, As i would like to keep the dash as standard as possible.

I  would much rather go for better speakers and a smallish amp, And i dont really want to add a sub as i need all the boot space possible (i go camping alot ).

what would you recomend if i go this route?

The standard set up is not bad but i just cannot get it to sound right either to tinney or to much bass.

Also does the ccr 2006 have the feature to increase the volume as the car speed increases like in my old pre faclift cdx? if it does my is not set up. How do i set it up as i dont have a manual for the stereo.

cheers

Enough said,

that head unit looks good.

i have just in another post about what i would need for the bose setup that all seems far to costly and hard to locate so i think will go a different route on improving my system thanks for all you advice.

Omega General Help / Re: Tapping sound when cold

I am sure i have read somewhere that knackerd EGR valves  can make tapping noise when cold so for a easy check/fix try unpluging  the connector on that whilst running when cold hope this helps  :-/

I shall be whatching this thrtead with interest as i have made a few posts about my multi rams not working either i have also do the suck tests and found both diaphrams ok.

the black box at the front of the engine is one of the two vacum reservoirs the should be behind the pollen fillter under the scuttle.

i dont i think i can flash any fault codes out on mine as it being a facelift,  i have ran out of ideas on mine so i might have to take mine to a vx specialist not a dealership i dont need a new ECU ;D

Or drive it up the A46 and I will have a look at it.....

cheers for the offer mark that would be a great help as i have ran out of ideas on how to sort this out might even be working for all i know but i deffinatly can not get either ram to move via hand throttle when, where, and what time would you want me round  :) :)

My nice block paving driveway has about 6ft wide gearbox oil stain that is very soaked in, so far nothing has shifted that >:(

Thats why Mark and I used clay pavers for our drives, oil cant soak in like it does on concrete.
Have you tried the oil patch cleaner that Wilco sell? scrub it in, leave for a bit then wash off. shifts most things but leaves a clean patch which shows up the rest of the drive.

i have not tried that silly really as wifey works at a store i wolud get discount.

i have started to turn the blocks/bricks over 1 by 1 to show their clean face  :-/

have heard that "cat litter" is very good for oil stains

very true we use a industrial version at work for oil spills/leaking machines etc.

My diff is doing exactly the same and with the same amount of oil also :(

i think mine must be the front bearing seal that has gone/leaking, i wolud have thought the only cure would be to replace the seal but i would have thought that would big job involving undoing the main nut  posibly alltering the bearing preload which i suposed to very difficult to reset.

if the leak is only minor like mine i would sugest just keep a eye on the oil level every now and again and top when nessarary,

as for cleaning try some GUNK engine degreaser and a stiff brush or even a soak with some penertrating fliud and a jet wash that should shift the oil.
