My son told me this morning that his girlfriend is expecting. It's very early days yet, but due at the end of the year! SWMBO hasn't stopped smiling all day & has already started knitting!
Years ago I never particularly bothered if the oil was hot, worm or cold when I checked it ... just made sure the engine had been stopped a little while before dipping it. So why do I now get told that my Merc & Smart needs their oil levels checking when hot? My Merc has been telling me at various time to check the oil level when I next fuel and the level can be anything from the bottom of the dip stick to the top & various in between. Does warm/hot oil these days really expand by such a notable amount?
It was a crappy psycho film last night on Ch4 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Fear...... but they were driving an Astra G facelift Omega complete with colour satnav
My daughter sent me a video this morning via Whatsapp to show me the noise her car sometimes makes. It only does it after a lay up of a few days but only lasts a minute or so at the most. It's sounds like a dry bearing somewhere ...... but obviously without the car in front of me to look at I can only guess. I've no idea how to go about loading it from my phone to get it to here via a link for your opinions
It's a kiddies airbed that has its own cover/sleeping bag.
Any suggestions on a repair? Trouble is, the hole is right on the edge of where it's been heat welded together so a patch isn't going to work. I'm tempted to give it a dab with a hot soldering iron but I can envisage burning a hole right the way through. Or even maybe a dab of Tigerseal over the hole?
Bought a new washing machine last week, it replaced an old one so was just a case of connecting the water & drain. SWMBO used it today for the first time since I installed it on Monday. It got almost through its cycle & started to dance around the garage! As it got to full spin I decided that switching it off at the mains would be the best policy! Having then Please read the manual I discovered I should have removed four screws/bolts that were fitted for transit!
How many machines do they hook you up to after a by-pass operation?
This is the kit my Dad is currently hooked up to after a triple heart by-pass yesterday morning. All is well & he was sat in the chair next to his bed watching telly! Not bad for 77

Just nipped to the shops, and a young girl was turning back round at the same place as me, so as we passed each other, I politely suggested that due to the misty/foggy conditions that turning her lights on might be a good idea. Her reply ............ I'm only going down the road!!! To which I said ...... so - when someone hits you cos they could/didn't see you, it'd be OK cos you were only going a short distance. The reason why she might want her lights on in the conditions went completely over her (blonde) head!
I was then following her as she turned off the main road and I got a hand gesture that suggested I play with myself!
No wonder with numpties like that the powers-that-be say we've to now have day time running lights
