I can't see 10 mm wider being a problem
It's strange but at times larger tyres can be cheaper than smaller tyres.
Standard fit tyres on the mighty Signum are an oddball 215mm. They are hard to source and about £30 a corner more expensive than the 225mm tyres I replaced them with.
You just need to be aware of the rolling diameter being too far from original otherwise you'll upset the ABS etc
Furthermore, the anticipation of MOT date to get the extra month before expiry, is not 31 days, nor even 30 days, but a month less one day. So if your MOT expires on February 28th, you must submit car for test on January 29th or later.
But the discs are still on the car over 12 months later .... they no where near the end of their life. I just replaced the pads. 'You need new discs & pads Sir' seems to be a common cry from MB.To be fair to MB, about £400 of that is parts...

Agreed. MB only quoted £550(ish) for both pads & discs for the front of my ML .... which of course I declined.

I changed mine as it was stuck up when I got the car in the end I broke the arms so to get it out and ....

I did them few weeks back and still looking good. Tiny pot of paint but it lasts. I used heat gun between coats as I did fronts then rears.
Mine looked a bit like a drug dealer's car .... black with red calipers front & back.Like theses...
But I had the later 17" facelift Elite alloys on my car which are less open

The finish was pretty good & lasted well.
I just got quoted £636 for rear brake pads ( not pads and discs) from Jaguar.
