I returned from Tunisia with TC last Thursday, lovely holiday, seems TC owned the hotel we stayed in so that's going to close too. Alongside the TC staff and customers I feel sorry for the locals as they are working really hard to rebuild a massively important tourist industry which has had numerous knocks over recent years. I found them to be really nice people..

The Hotel demanding money seems to be a one off and the press are overdramatising as usual.

Mossies could bugger off though, I got savaged as there had been a recent storm   :'(

General Car Chat / Re: Is the current Disco Sport family...
« on: 10 September 2019, 14:14:00 »
I recall being shown the prototype disco sport when I started at Jaguar Landrover, something about the rear suspension set up was " revolutionary"  according to the engineers as it had no strut towers impeding the cabin, doubt it's a carry over due to this

Well.......no general election until November, after the extension (which Boris says he will die in a ditch before he asks for it) is guaranteed.

He'll resign before that !

« on: 05 September 2019, 21:12:30 »
Just been pootling around on here and realised(after looking at my poor stats) that I have been a member on here for just over 10 years, but have only managed 354 (sorry 355 now) posts.

I think I have had four omegas in that time, two TD estates and two petrol saloons.
Remembering back we used to get together occasionally and play Mario kart (well mainly TB and Jimbob).

Anyway its a great forum and has helped me out no end of times with all the knowledge within, I shall have to try and make an effort and contribute more.
I know its the wrong section ,but is anyone up for a NW meet??
Don't tell Jon (omegod), he'll come along and try to get you all to sell him your omegas for scrap.  :o

He has already had one of mine

Indeed he did, hope that V6 of yours is still in as good a nic, The corrosion at the front end of your old silver one was quite frightening when I dug into it so you did right to get shut !

Omega General Help / Re: Key stuck in ignition.
« on: 22 July 2019, 10:54:37 »
pull the remote part of key off, apply some light tension towards you with mole grips on the horseshoe and tap the middle of the key with a panel pin hammer, usually gets the sliders to jiggle and let go of the key

Graphite type lube spray may help

Got an ecu, immobiliser ring and 2 key's n remotes here from an N reg 2.5 V6
/\ /\ This would be  a good next step to rule out imob issues and a 10 min job.  :y
94-96 cars didn't have an immobiliser ring.

Then someone at the factory must have shoved something that look awfully like one round the ignition of the 96 car I broke by mistake

One of the only decent shows Mike Brewer did was the story of Bravo November, the sole Chinook on the Falklands during the conflict that is still flying now

Can't find a link to it even though i only watched it last week
