I've got some calipers from a low mile DTI which are the same as V6, carriers are likely the same across the range anyway, pm me if still in need

Every box I've pulled from manual:

2.0 pet
2.2 Pet/Diesel
2.5 Pet
2.6 Pet
3.0 Pet

has been marked R25-28 ? Regardless they are tough buggers and have took some serious power

Just a point of order there are only 2 manual gearbox types fitted to petrol Migs, R25-28 and the super rare unicorn that is the R30, I've never seen one but believe it simply is an R25-28 with shot peened gearsets

I have a facelift one, not sure they would be different ?

If it's run dry, master might also be shot...

Just had this very conversation about my Merc as they cannot get it to bleed...

Slave failure on my Altea had a similar net result, but fortunately that was under warranty. Clutch master on the Omega seems to suffer abuse more readily... :-\

You will never bleed the Merc normally, peice of rubber hose from nearside front wheel bleed nipple to clutch slave nipple, open both nipples and pump brake pedal a few times, fluid won't need topping up as it ends up back in the master anyway, this works a treat on A class as I've done it :y

edit ,too late again ,already been done :-\

I was staring at a fiesta after changing it's clutch recently and thought , how the bloody hell do you reverse bleed the bastard, I wish I'd thought of that ...genius solution  :y

Sounds like a stuck inner lock mechanism, they are greased from factory and it dries out

Step 1: (if button is in looked position)drop the window,  pull the door button off it's rod, grab it with mole grips and pull up as hard as possible.

Step 2 : force the door card away from the door, this will wreck it, put the window up  , spray tons of WD or suchlike towards the b post / at the back of the door lock mechanism whilst working the outer door handle and it should eventually unstick

The last few I've broken have been hideously rusty underneath, I always thought they were quite resilient , back arches excepted, the front where the cross member joins the chassis rails was coming away in chunks on the last one.

There a one owner preface 3.0 Manual MV6 saloon stashed away near me that I'd love to get my hands on but he won't sell.....yet !

Another vote for the costco 2 tonne one, it'll give you a hernia if you try and carry it but it's a superb bit of kit  :y

I'm breaking an estate if you want any replacement airbag bit's

I thought I was a gonna earlier, when sat on the potty, following eating something most disagreeable at lunchtime.

There was a big yelp, and a lot of blood.  Blotting, rather than wiping, was clearly the order of the day  :'(

Its made me feel quite delicate, and sorry for myself. Doubt there is any sympathy here though.
Lots of blood, eh? Sounds like you need your piles pushing back. I know a lad who'll help you out, pm me for details.

I've retired  ;D

Omega General Help / Power steering loss
« on: 14 April 2018, 16:55:52 »
Posting this on behalf of one of our members Ray who hasn't got internet currently so I will relay any answers back

2002 2.2 dti CDX, power steering is getting heavy at low speed but works as normal at motorway speeds, Power steering fuse is fine apparently as is fluid level

Would this have servotronic ?

Sounds like a petrol focus estate or suchlike is what you need, so cheap they are disposable
