Omega General Help / Re: Opel 2.5 td hard start cold
« on: 04 April 2019, 23:00:03 »
Hi there got me a new Opel 2.5td lovely car owned many now this one wont start first thing when cold just cranks for a minute then will go like lack of fuel but then will start fine all day long on and off and will start again if I turn it straight off it's as the plugs are not working but I'm thinking fuel is leaking during night no leaks though any help guys much appreciated
the td i had for 10years had the glow plugs changed only once. if ever it never started straight away it was always the leak off pipes needed replacing. if i squeezed them where they went on to the nipple & my fingers had diesel on them i changed them. also i would check the blank on No 6. some are rubbish & swell . regards the leak-off pipes i always made mine a tad longer than necessary so i could just cut a couple of mill off the ends.

having not read all the comments posted. but having heard Nigel Farage saying that he would have sent negotiators to companies hoping i guess to put pressure on their respective governments to point out how the uk ,s brexit plans would also cause problems to their trade. i dont think spanish veg & fruit growers will want all their produce rotting in trucks. firms like Varta sell millions of euros in the uk of their products. real negotiators could have maybe done things different to May.

do all omegas have the same power steering fluid reservoirs
the reason that i asked is i lose fluid & i thought i fixed the problem. initially blamed the banjo bolt as it looked wet. put new washers on it but still i lost fluid. i topped the reservoir up but the cap was really tight & all the top half of the reservoir turned . where i park at home i have to reverse with hard left hand down & i am leaving a trail of fluid that are about 2 feet apart & three inches in circumference. i rang Steve at vauxhallspareparts & he has heard of reservoirs perishing ( i hadn,t ) unfortunately he hasn,t got one. may see if a bit of gorilla glue & sealant fixes it.  :y

Petrol pumps take a token payment of 1, just to check that your card is valid, the rest, in your case 49, will come out in a couple of days. It's the only way it can work, as they don't know in advance how much fuel you will take.
thats what it must of been as its been put right now. i usually avoid tescos fuel but the chance to top up when travelling from clifton moor york to thirsk is short of places to fill up.
