Gentlemen, once again IU am very touched by your good wishes and kind thoughts: thank you sincerely. This Forum is a community (more like a family?) and I'm happy to be a part of it. Ah, Rods2, I wish the "Big" referred to something more interesting than my belly!
Hi gents. I have now just returned home, still immobile and with lots of pain. The days are boring, just shared between lying on my bed and sitting in an armchair - NOT how I want to spend what little time I have left to live! At least the debates on here provide some diversion, but I m having daily physiotherapy and the reckon it will take another 6months to restore mobility!
No hip replacement, just a splint/scaffolding screwed into the bone, which is said to be quite strong. I've had to turn don my invitation to Strictly Come Dancing, though!
Two weeks ago I fell and broke my hip bone and have been in hospital ever since - bloody painful! I am virtually immobile and have only just managed to get a Wi-Fi connection, so lots of catching up to do. I've been brilliantly well looked after, but recovery will take some weeks - walking frame and baby steps!
