Thanks mate. So is the steel boss supposed to be captive and has broken away from its held position? If so I can whip pan off and get a company round my way to Ali weld it back on

Its attached to the inside of the sump, probably welded on. :y

i think most mp,s have not got a clue why the leave option was voted for with such a big majority. or they do know but because of political correctness do not mention it. also there seems a real imbalance on how the news about brexit is reported , it seems to be in the remain camp.

The BEEB is only the audio version of the Grauniad. Sacking offence to be seen reading anything else. :-X

I had this problem Webby. IIRC there is a steel (:-\) boss attached to the inside into which the plug screws. I re-tapped mine a bit larger and fitted a new plug. :y

Reminds me of a buy-to-let I bought. I re-pressurised the combi boiler/heating system, and forgot I'd left the inlet tap on as I was checking the rest of the house. When I got back to the kitchen, the floor was flooded, the boiler installer, who had his name proudly displayed on the casing, had not bothered to connect the overpressure outlet on the top of the boiler to outside!!! King idiot. >:( ;D

When I was into property rentals some years ago, I found that repo's could almost always be bought well under the asking price. Apparently, in those days, once the tenant had failed all attempts to stave off the inevitable, ownership reverted to insurance companies that had insured the banks' loans. Presumably they finished up with no end on their books and were happy to get rid. I bought two about 25% off. Happy days for me, but sad for those who had to move out.
Also, for anyone else considering doing this, the % return buying two up and two down terraced houses was a no brainer compared to more expensive det. properties. :y

I had a good system for 'vetting' prospective tenants, and thus never had an unplanned rent void. I never took DSS tenants, probably illegal now, if not then, and so they were not usually spending 24/7 in the property.
IIRC that tenants now have the DSS rent paid to them now and not direct to the landlord, so another good reason for avoiding DSS. :y

;D in fuel costs alone
compare
Omega 25 MPG ,200 miles per week =47
new mondeo 50 MPG, 200 miles per week =23.50
Omega depreciation 3 years 0.00  ;D
ford mondeo 21k new depreciation 3 years@11k miles p/a 40% =8400

8400 minus 3666 (the extra fuel for omega over 3 years)= 4740 saving  :y

Mine does 28.6, about the same as the TD. :(

Is that the 2.0 petrol auto? Was looking at those, good looking car in Estate form
I think with a decent interior. But that MPG is disappointing, longer runs as well?

Yep,  2.0L petrol Estate Auto, very bland to drive after the Omega, but quite quick, and lots of toys, but 28.6 local, I think I got about 34 going to Scotland last year. :y

Ric Ocasek. Frontman and main songwritter for the The Cars. Maybe not everyone's cup-of-tea, but I quite liked them. He was also a record producer of some reknown.

Aged 75, so at least not stupidly young.

You only come on here to tell us someone has died.  ;D

Useful though, he'll let us know when you have. ::)

I have to say that even though I am not generally a conspiracy theorist, this stinks, especially as I have seen nothing in the media about it. >:( >:( >:(
You seem the type that wouldn't be shy about quizzing your MP, so go to one of his surgeries and do it. After all, you're an old duffer with nowt better to do.  ;D

She is an utter waste of space. I gave up and walked out of the last 'surgery' meeting I had with her on a defence matter, on which she claimed some knowledge, but demonstrated that she had not got a clue. Fortunately, after years of failing in various junior posts, and being a transport minister, she is standing down, thank God. She has never satisfactorily answered any of my letters on any issue. She has merely been a greasy pole climber, and fortunately slipped down every time she tried. >:( >:( >:(
Other than that she has been a good MP. :-X

Interesting. What sort of driving is that? My jag is returning mid to high 30s and it's the same engine, IIRC.

Not much opportunity for lunacy on my commute, I must admit. It's mostly following dawdling VAG owners at 40 MPH, but it gets a good clean out every so often within that figure.

Mine is the 2.0l petrol ecotec. It will do 33ish on a run, but locally only 28.6. :( Goes like stink though. ;)
