General Car Chat / Is it just me

I seem to be getting dazzled by the newer built cars just lately  ???

This video captured from my rear dashcam is a 17 reg Volvo.

It`s late morning & even in the daytime it dazzled my eyes when I looked at it in the mirror.
Do other members notice this or is it time to get my minces tested  :-\

Omega General Help / what do you do

when installing the oil filter   ???
I oil the o-ring & then screw on the GM oil filter.

Talking to other ppl, some say they pre-fill the filter with oil & then screw it on.
One bloke even places strong magnets on the filter cartridge, good idea  :-\

Anyway we`re having this discussion at work, surrounded by my co-workers today & one of the girls  says something like; "when I serviced trucks we were taught not to pre-fill oil filters, but fuel filters we did pre-fill" well up to date she kept that one quiet  ;D

So what`s best practise  ???

General Car Chat / Looks fake to me

Why do I think it`s a fake video  ??? why else blank the dashcam date & time stamp
A bit of clever editing & hey presto I`m innocent officer  ;D

SpaceX have annouced a launch date of February 6 at 1:30 pm EST for the demo flight  of their Falcon Heavy  :)

If like me, you`ve watched this company over the last few years perfecting the unique landing caopability of the first stage rocket; this next launch will land the first stage & both of it`s boosters.

The CEO Elon Musk has announced the dummy payload will be his Tesla sports car.
The final stage, with the tesla onboard; will power up to break free of earths gravity & the planned orbit around the sun will take it as far out as Mars  :y

They test fired the vehicle on the pad the other day & this thing is huge

I`ve watched several of these vids where they renovate diecast models.

We`ve all got the odd rattle can about & probably some cherished matchbox or corgi hidden away.  This bloke uses an air brush & probably makes it look easier then it is .
I might sacrifice renovate my old corgi Triumph 2000, when I can find the time  :y

Some of the older models suffer with broken or missing tyres, I need to do some research

I first heard about this complex of tunnels under Portsdown Hill many years ago. Built during WW2  as an Under ground HQ., they were used by NATO during the cold war.
In Part one of the video, the film crew have gained acess from Emergency exit 1. These exit points are still visible on the hill below Fort Southwick.
Military Road ( the public road that runs along the top of the hill ) is marked on their tunnel guide (pause the video @2.35) & passes over corridors 60 to 64.
