Donít be so sure, older petrols still way better than diesel. MotherT has now flogged her 2014 EClass, with a 45mpg 2.1 diesel, that was liable for the ULEZ. (Not reason for selling)

My 2002 3.2 V6, doing 24mpg,  still lists as no charge.  ;D

Its tricky, because it seems every city is making up its own rules as to what is and is not chargeable.  ::)

Birmingham, everything that isn't Euro 6 (diesel) or Euro 4 (petrol) is chargeable apparently. As always though, I'll bet they don't apply it to all the sh!t chucking diesel busses they clog the city centre up with.  >:(
I read somewhere recently that this is going to change somehere.... perhaps..... soon ::)

I have what I have thought the bearing sound from the rear. It soun dlike it is on the left side of the car. It is quiet when turning right but makes noise going straight ahead and turning right.

I did change the bearing last year but the sound is there, did a new bearing change last week and the sound is still there.

Could it be the axle shafts joints? Car has seen a lot of high speed running on Autobahn before I got it and I drive it a lot on highways to at around 100 mph.

Huh? On my TD Estate it turned out to be the opposite to expectations. i.e. LH bearing failure was noisier when turning left!

I may have misread this, but it seems BG offered you one in the second post. :-\

I picked up one from a junk shop recently. Unbranded but looks to have come from a Japanese car of some sort. Big chunky motor about the size of a wiper motor so it's low speed and bearable noise levels, unlike the high-revving, deafening, lasts-one-inflation-before-dying types the motor factors sell.

I'm still jealous of the Porsche one 2woody has.

Yeah, what happened to him? ???

Got the pussy all moist and covered in in white stuff.

Then realised, whilst carry it across the kitchen, my bucket has a huge hole in. So half arsed job.

I had intended to wash the Omega, forgetting she was away for the weekend.

To dry the pussy, I took it for a gentle* drive around, and also a stint on the motorway to let it regen as its only done short journeys lately.

Except when a frisky looking Aston was weaving all over my arse, at which point, when the road opened up and I could get past the traffic, we gunned it, but come braking and corners, he had peas for testicles, and I left him.  Very disappointed. Typical Silverstone visitor, all the gear but no idea.  Much like another Silverstone visitor I saw about 20mins later - I couldn't make out if it was an MX5 or MR2 it was that bashed on every panel.  I'm guessing he swapped ends a few times coming off the roundabout at Baynards Green.

How old are you really Jaime?

General Car Chat / Re: Making an insurance claim
« on: 04 May 2019, 10:05:10 »
I just phoned to tell my multi-car insurer to cancel the auto renewal for 3 cars due next week, "Hang on a minute Sir, have you had other quotes?"
 >:( >:( >:(
"I'm getting them now" sez I.
" Would you be interested in renewing if I knocked another £65 off (the £704 you would have paid if you were mug enough to allow us to gouge you)?"
Bastards!!! >:( >:( >:(

Does the EML light go off after so many starts if fault no longer exists? Or am I thinking of other codes. :-\ :-\ :-\
On the Omega, only the precat codes keep it illuminated. Others, the light goes out when fault fixed.

Ta, which I guess is why the sensors get re-positioned? :-\

Thanks Dave, Entwood has kindly offered, and lives nearby, but I do need to get one of my own.
As I only use the Omega on days such as today, it will take time for 20 starts.  :y :y :y

A cheap BT Dongle off the Bay, couple of quid, and the free version of "ScanMyOpel" App off the PlayStore will be good enough to sort your codes out.

As you know Chris, I am a techno numpty, so you are speaking in tongues. ;D ;D ;D

I know TB will hate it, but what do we think of this one?

At that price its worth a punt. Doesn't say if it will reset codes though. As Nick suggests, one that will read live data is best. :y
