Track Rod End rubber Boot size?
« on: 27 August 2012, 14:15:00 »

Anyone know the hole sizes for these (the so called MOT fail dust covers this year), did a quick Bay and Google seem to be anything (so called universal) ranging from 10mm and 22mm hole sizes to 15mm to 35mm, local Car Spares only do Trade Packs (MOT Packs) of 10, but have 6 different Pack sizes in stock? so need to get the right ones.

Ebay one seem to be one size fits all, which I doubt. by the way do VX sell these?, local one says no, only complete Track Rod Ends!

 :y :y Chris.

Edit:, just to add, new complete Track Rod End was fitted less than 12 months ago on this car, Im buggered if Im going fit new ones every MOT time, just for the sake of an new Dust Ingress rule.

Try
 www.balljointboots.co.uk

You'll still need to measure the joint, but that's necessary however you do it.

How can they fail a vehicle for not having something that isn't meant to be there ?  :-\

If you have any old wishbones kicking about, I think the wb ball joint rubber boot might fit. Might?

Just a thought, on the off chance. :-\

The rubber grease/dust cover as in pic is now an MOT fail if split

Ah, right.  :y     I thought the threaded trackrod tube now required a gaitor.

Thanks all, loads of different sizes at the Spares place.

Inside hole Dia, 10mm top 30mm lower fits nicely.
