Can anyone tell me at what stage the cam belt needs changing , last changed at 108,000 . car now on 133,000.

Every 40.000 miles or every 4 years whichever comes sooner. VX recommended intervals.

and dont forget water pump too--those who do belt on 2.2 without doing pump regret it when---bang seriously mate-get your belt+pump at same time

If you can be sure of the mileage then there's no rush,but being a 2.2 it's easier than the V6's, but you'r right peace of mind,you can't beat it

and symes is right for the extra outlay it's a no brainer on the water pump
