Blower stopped working?
« on: 01 January 2014, 15:05:20 »

Hi all, happy new year to you all!!

Not sure why, but my blowers have stopped working. Where and what fuse should I check first all please, or is there another possible cause??

Many thanks,

Dave

Has the scuttle drain been blocked? Any sign of dampness in passenger footwell?

Blower and "hedgehog" controller up behind glove box.  Check blower working by applying 12V direct - if it is, most probably the controller gone.

Cheer dbug, I'll have to look at the weekend now as it's getting too dark and in work tomorrow :(

Thanks for the heads up on that though. I don't suppose you have a picture of what I'm looking for do you by any chance or can I not miss it?  :o

Cheers again!

Hi Dave,

Not sure if it's the same thing but had a similar problem with my Vectra C and it turned out to be the heater blower motor behind the glovebox had seized up etc.  :(

hello Dbug You say you have changed 2 Where did I go wrong when I tried to take one out of my last omega. I ended breaking off both support lugs. I could not find a way to hold a new hedgehog in and  ended up selling the car. It was very cold when I did it maybe the plastic lugs needed heating up prior to removal. Any tips in case I ever have to do it again. Bring it to you? :y
