Citroen C1
« on: 17 June 2017, 08:25:38 »

Does it have the same engine as the 2CV? A girlie that lives by us has a C1 and it has the same, distinctive sound as the old 'upside down pram'. But surely that engine is too old now?  :-\

It can't have, emission and all that.  But then a few 3 cyl petrols sound the same tinny/rattling noise as the 2CV.

I doubt the 2CV 600cc lump would actually move a modern car...

Originally got by with a paltry 375 cc. Later versions 'beefed up' to 425 cc.

The 602 cc lump came much later. :y

Yup, it needs those extra 2 ;D

It is possible to squeeze the four cylinder engine from a GS into a 2CV. If you're crazy ;D

How about a 500 cubic inch V8, or would that be overkill? :)

If you get one from a Cadillac Eldorado you would retain the FWD, complete with the engine in front of the gearbox. Some bonnet mods would be necessary, and I doubt the hubs/brakes/suspension/'chassis' would last very long. 500Nm torque at 2000rpm(that's the lowest number :y ) will break stuff without breaking a sweat.

My friend who is currently weighing up getting a 2.2 Omega has a Citroen C1.

She hates it, and says it rattles like a marble in a tin box. She calls it her "Shitroen"!! ;D ;D ;D ;)

Mum had one, and when the M25 first opened 80 was the minimum 'safe' speed.

She upgraded to a Fiesta as it felt insignificant next to all the lorries :D

I have been driven around a racetrack by a maniac in a 2cv. I have never been so terrified.  ;D
