Here's an idea...

Throw all 15k at your mortgage and keep the Zafira another year...

Not too worried about the mortgage currently.
OK, I will rephrase the question... Which is better? Owing 15,000 less on your home or owning a shiny car?
Fair comment. There's precious little around 2nd hand that would enthuse me to part with that much cash at the moment.
I think I'd just chuck 5-6k at something boring and lowish mileage that will absorb some commuting miles and call it "white goods". :-\

Yup, in view of the fact that there is 3 parts of buggerall that's even remotely desirable, I'd do similar.  Or run the worthless Zaffy until it stopped, then pick up another mongrel shitbox with 12months ticket, in the hope something eventually comes along....   .but don't hold your breath.

I've been accused (by that rich fella from Lincolnsausageshire) of describing my car as if it were a washing machine or something similar, and that's exactly how I look at it. I pick my car to do the job I want it to do, reliably and as cheaply as is reasonable.

Rolls Royce or Reliant Robin I doubt if wife or whippet can tell the difference. :y

Just been sat in an A6 2 litre s-line special, 61 plate, so older than I wanted, but only 32k on the clock!
Looked well featured and tempting!

tempting, but mileage history quite unusual, so wouldnt put it past the prev owner to have had vcds and been doing it themselves every year!

Even so, the trader should have checked this and not bought the car in the first place. Or at least put it straight into auction rather than on the forecourt :y

can't think why I didn't suggest these earlier[especially as I own one ::)]what about Volvo V70 or XC[cross country all wheel drive version]70 or if they were out early enough the V90? Incredibly capable machines and pretty near a match for the Omega comfort wise if mine is anything to go by :y

The Superbs are a good car, the Toyotas are about as interesting as Stemo's slippers.....

But then you know I would be hunting out an XF Sportbrake to get correct wheel drive.

Never been impressed with the non AWD Audi's, the handling is pretty poor and under steer bad.

I now where there will be an F-Pace going soon but, somewhat out of budget  ;)

Written off the Toyota and Mazda I think now anyway.

Still like the newest Superb.
This Audi was AWD, shame it wasnt as it appeared to be, it fitted me and felt right, if that makes sense.
Looking at an E-Class shortly.
Not seen a Jag estate fitting the bill yet, either getting on a bit, or intergallactic milage.
Keep thinking do I REALLY need an estate, but am sure i'd regret it if I didnt have one.
