Car SOS
« on: 06 October 2018, 13:24:33 »

I'm disappointed and, obviously, naive. I thought they had three/four weeks to get these cars done. The one on now is a Fiat Dino. At the planning stage, Tim had a right haircut, one of these 'nothing at the sides and a big lump on top' ones. 'Weeks' later, when returning the car, full head of hair. Pah  :(

probably 3 or 4 weeks work over a 6 month period
or he has fast growing hair
if he's a werewolf ,there is a full moon during a 4 week build  :-\
i think many of these programs are semi fake, scripted, doctored
entertaining all the same

Certainly with things like Fantom Works, they will have a stream of jobs on the go over a year or do of filming, then each episode features one or two of those projects in full.

Much easier to watch, rather than trying to keep track of twelve plus simultaneous things. Also means that they can skip over the boring bits and focus on the creative stuff. Some of the deadlines are contrived (167 days into a project that must be delivered a week Monday) and some are genuine (July 4th parade/anniversary etc)...

If you watch SOS regularly you will notice several project cars tucked away in the corner of the workshop , I suppose they have to juggle them about while engines are being rebuilt and cars are away getting re sprayed ?

Fuzz Townshend runs a commercial operation so the garage is not just a "prop" for the TV programme. Some of the vehicles seen in the background will be customer cars undergoing restoration work.

That's all fine, but they shouldn't show a calendar with so many days to go before 'deep shit' ensues.

And I can't be doing with the DIY SOS type blubbing bullshit over it.  To the point I don't watch it as much as I used to.
