Mercedes seats aren't too bad in standard form, but the fully electric/orthopaedic seats are a different league  8)

Unfortunately very few people spend the money at order time :'(

As TB says though, they are hard to beat, which is why Im reluctant to change mine for something else.
That's the crux of the matter.  There is *NOTHING*, even now, that can match it.  I agree with Rangie that a FFRR surpasses it on comfort, but a FFRR is inconvenient in old 1960s NCP multistoreys, or my driveway.  Its well know I have an itch for a FFRR, but simply don't have the room after repeatedly borrowing one from our resident used car dealer.

I'm lucky in that I have some friends that do a bit of wheeler dealer'ing with german marques, so I get to have goes in some 5yr old 5/7 series, E class, A8 etc.  One bro has had a couple of spankers S classes (though we don't mention the current one, which is parked up unloved/unused and he pays full whack for it but gets a crap CLS in return ;D - that'll teach him not to listen).  I obviously went down the X351 XJ route because it was better than the rivals for me.

But if you want a non 4x4, or lack the room for something like a FFRR, there is nothing really that matches the Omega, certainly in the sub 40k 2nd hand market.  Yes, the technology onboard is a bit dated with no fancy touchscreen carplay Netflix streaming wank.  But I find it incredible that a 17yr old car, essentially a 30yr old facelift or a 40yr old design, holds its own against any other saloon/estate out there.  But it does. And wins.

Despite being a lease (of some strange description), Bro ticked them this time, as his previous S Class  seats were, in his opinion, awful.

Shame he can't use them ;D

Cleaned the MAP sensor on the XJ.  Really just because the guide written on one of the Jag forums a couple of weeks back was a bit poor, so I tarted it up :)

You can add 1,500+ in remedial work regardless of purchase price, as any one here with a keeper can testify ;)

And whilst a sorted Omega is a good all rounder, the rapidly dwindling source of reliable parts doesn't make it a good long term proposition as a daily. Which is why most people who run them as dailies have spare cars...

which all makes a worthwhile, new to me, Omega a 2500 car, plus a couple of weekends work. And that opens up newer, easier to keep estates.

Superglued the broken rubber mount for the LPG injectors which I noticed yesterday when we did the cambelt.

Found a flat on the NSF of the Mundano again>:(  So fitted the space saver again>:(

This is the same wheel that I paid a hefty 25 to have a 'puncture' repaired a month ago.  I can see no evidence of a repair and air is clearly escaping from the rim when I poured water over it.  ::)

Might just chuck a can of goo in it!  :-X  Sigh....  ::)

I suspect that someone is doing it to annoy you... :-\

High strength contact adhesive or non drying paint on the valve cap would prove a point.

Or get your puncture repairer to actually clean up the rim, rather than lash just a load of sealant on it.

I think it's been to 3 or 4 different tyre shops so far for exactly that!  ::)

It's not been tampered with.  It's quite clear where it's leaking from the bead when I pour water over it.  ;)

Anyway, all my neighbours are about 90 odd, so I'd probably hear the clank of the zimmer frame as they nipped crawled out in the night...  ;D
