Fuse Boxes.
« on: 13 February 2012, 13:46:24 »

Are all the fuse locations the same accross the range on Omegas?

I have Zirks/Twiglets old 2.5TD now and the horn doesn't work but i can hear the relay clicking, is there a fuse allocation list avaliable?

I really need to buy a Haynes manual  ::)

On the 2.5 turbo diesel the fuse board is under the steering wheel behind the drop down panel the fuse for the horn is f17 middle row 4th from the right as you look at the fuse board its a 20 amp one.

If the relay is clicking then I doubt it's the fuse :-\

You've applied 12 volts directly to the horns haven't you!  ::) ::) You need to know that the horns do work before you start mauling with the rest of the car's wiring/etc

Always start with the little things - Check the fuses first then move on... Blown.  So replaced that and THEN move onto the horns, nothing - So a new horn later and its working.

Sorted, cheers to those that helped and to Andy B and his excesive use of '!!' and using the word 'mauling' all in one sentance.  ::)

Its never the fuse or the relay. Omega has advantage you can hear relay anyway, leaving only 2 likely culprits...  ...loom near horns, or horns themselves.

I did say. Wiring about 2mm from plug. Corroded. That to get spare bits of loom, as couldnt get a decent joint on the originals.
