was looking into upgrading my speakers in my 99 cd
i was informed to get the bose speakers out of a elite as i would be hard to match the quality of them unless i wanted to spend alot of money
this true? they really that gd?
blooming hope so coz just bought a set off ebay lol

Hi, have you also got the amp as well? I believe you cannot just install the bose speakers without the correct head unit / amp as the output is different?
Someone will 100% confirm soon
Regards

if you wanted to change the standard speakers for some after market ones. do you have to use them silly plastic speaker housing things to change to aftermarket ones.?
-
Yes - I have Infinity components in mine but a standard head unit struggles to drive them
-
Yeah Bose speakers are 2 Ohm unlike the 4 Ohm normal Omega ones...also need Bose head unit and amp minimum plus probably the loom
-
i have a aftermarket headunit as i dnt like the standard ones as the car is recieving some heavy audio upgrades
the speakers are supplied with all conversion leads
i just wondered if they sounded good?
-
i have just put some new speakers in my car.i went down to halford and brought the spacers for a corsa and they fitted no probs.I think aftermarket ones sound so much better then the vx standard ones :y
-
i think standard Vx ones are only about 20 watts. how cheap are the spacers for aftermarket speakers

Fitting Bose Speakers to any Head Unit is not a good idea, as correctly said earlier there 2 Ohms, (Bose's way of screwing a bit more power from there systems) most HU are disigned for 4 Ohm. Some Amps claim to drive 2 Ohm Speakers but your then into trying to set up all the EQ to try and suit the Bose Speakers.
Best bet is either go for a Bose system retrofit (if its cheap enough) or rip it out and start again.

i say rip it out and start again thats what i did and brought some nice speakers, sub and amp to go in the back sounds stop on :y
