Headlight Bulbs
« on: 08 January 2016, 15:09:12 »

For the 2.2, any flavours of the month? One went pop few weeks back, I popped a random spare in that I had in the garage. Now the other one went pop  ::)

Was thinking Osram Night Breaker Unlimited....

It's between the nighbreakers, and the new boys in town, the Philips Xtreme vision, which have been uprated over the last couple of years to 130% or therabouts. Looking at reviews, seems like these are outperforming the Nightbreakers now. Don't own either, but I'm upgrading some point soon and tempted by the Philips...

Xenons in the 3.2, normal projectors in the 2.2.  :)

IIRC you had Nightbreakers in Mr T?

These higher output bulbs are known to give more illumination at the cost of shorter life.

I personally have the Phillips Vision version of the Osram Nightbreakers, both much the same.  Hellfrauds do their version that might be almost competitive on trade maybe? I think I paid £15 for the pair of Visions.

I have Nightbreakers fitted to my Vectra.......I mean Signum. ::)

Illumination has gone from shit to slightly less shit. :-\

I would look into HIDS......apparently the 55w HIDS are superior to the 35w HIDS. At least according to the Vectra C boys.

Xenons in the 3.2, normal projectors in the 2.2.  :)

Is this because the  2.2 is not a proper Omega?..... :)

Some of us on ABS are starting to look at LED upgrades. Cost is supposadly £35 a kit. Couple are trialing them at the moment. Maybe doing my latest Zaf with them. If I do, will report back my findings

Pre facelift Elites only, post facelift CDX, Elite and Plod... Might have been  a cost option on MV6 but at work, so don't have the brochure to hand... ::)
