1.2 fiesta 1999

just done a check on this for my son on mot history, this was on septembers mot advisory, girl has had new wishbones fitted, mot centre said brake linings coroding but not a problem. is this a car to steer clear of? she wants 500 for it, i told my boy to forget it but overkeen to get a car now


Advisory Notice issued

Nearside Front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush (2.5.A.1c)

Offside Front suspension has slight movement at a wishbone pin or bush (2.5.A.1c)

Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.3)

Offside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a pin/bush (2.4.G.3)

Nearside Rear Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)

Offside Rear Macpherson strut has slight movement at the upper attachment (2.5.A.1c)

Front Brake disc(s) (3.5.1h)

my friend has one, I like them, consumption friendly for budget and not slow.. and the bits are general things for wear and tear .. not something unexpected ..

doesnt look like too much work to do  if you do it yourself  fiestas are good little cars  and parts are cheap :y

shes had wishboes done, new exaust and others to put through mot, was just the advisorys i'm worried about

top two advises have been done with the wishbones,

anti roll links cheap enough £7

as said just general wear.

the rest is no big deal.

i would check for corrosion/previous weld repairs on the sills
thou.

Check the sills and floor pans VERY well, these things are often pretty rotten at that age.

rear inner wheel arches tend to corrode badly as well around where the rear flexy hose bracket is attached,not easy to see with the splash guard covering it

sis had one well still got it but not on road fail'd mot.
had new brakes and discs fitted about year ago, (fail)
new engine mounts year ago (fail)
new cil at last mot (fail)
wish bone and springs sterring (fail)
co2 (fail)
chassy bent and twisted (no accidents) (fail)
not a good car!!!!

we been to see the car, its a 1.2 zetec 2 door black, slight scuff on front bumper,small rust spot on door and few scratches on roof from cats. lovely car for 500 quid so had a drive sounds good, everything looked ok so we bought it. needs oil change and water change so gonna do a few bits on it sunday. boy is well chuffed. has a nice cd player in it as well.  ;)

can't go wrong for 500 quid. my other half has a puma same running gear as fiesta parts are as cheap as chips and easy to work on good on ya !!! :y
